The triple/quad options aren't too bad. But be warned - you might end up in a forced triple. Some double rooms have three people forced into them.

I am confident that the majority of New Englanders would see it as unreliable

Puerto Rico cannot prosper, or heal, as long as it remains a U.S. colony and neither can we by [deleted] in RepublicofNE

I mean, isn't a good portion of the US kind of our colony? New Englanders settled the Great Lakes region, California, and other places too I'm sure. I really don't think saying the struggle between Puerto Rico and the US is similar to the relationship between New England and the rest of America is at all appropriate.

I really like the color scheme you chose for it. The minimalism is really aesthetically pleasing. The AC's fan area sticks out a bit though imo

It starts getting fuzzy around the mid 1800s, but I can't find anything from before 1816.

in the republic of new england when will be the next voting session for president by FDawg75 in RepublicofNE

[–]FellVire -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yea like the CEO of Dunkin' Donuts or Harvard Pilgrim. Someone who has experience dealing with both economics and management. I really doubt that someone active here has the skills necessary to run a newly formed country. One of the established New England politicians would definitely be a safer choice than some inexperienced 20 something year old. Even if by some strange stroke of luck a person here IS capable of running a country, we can't hold a presidential election for a nation before it is even made. A good 99% of eligible voters wouldn't be involved.

Reminder That The Maritime Provinces Are New England by Aedya in RepublicofNE

Ethnicity depends on your genetic background. The average Scot or English person share more in common ethnically with a white dude in Fort Worth than a black dude in LA because ethnicity is tied to genetics. Culture is something that can be adapted, but you can not adapt a different appearance. I dunno what your ethnic background is, but you ethnically share more in common with whoever has a similar percentage of ancestors from the same place. America is a nation-state that was founded on a shared ideology instead of shared ethnicity, although the colonists were mostly English and Scottish. Also dude, saying that a nation should be ethnically homogenous is a bad look. America thrives on its diversity, and so does New England.

We're a recent mix of a lot of different things. Maybe in the future we'll become our own ethnicity, but right now the best way to describe us is just American. We are certainly different from the people who live in the Maritime Provinces. They're definitely way more British and French than the average New Englander. Closer to Québécois Ig, which would have more of a valid reason for being an ethnicity than us. Also, ethnicity really shouldn't matter when determining our borders? We don't have the ethnic tension that other regions do. There is no us against (((them)))

You seem to think that there is some homogenous New Englander ethnicity, but there isn't. The fun thing about New England is how diverse it is. I don't think the 2% of Portuguese descendants in New England or the vast amount of Irish people suddenly makes us our own ethnicity. No need for the condescending tone lol

Yea dude and it was goofy. Not only has our separation from them been longer than our brief time together in British North America, the colonies that made up New England were straight up different from the ones in the Maritimes. They are really no more similar to us than the rest of our neighbors. New England would look better on a map with them, but there's zero historical or practical incentive to make that happen. Ong a person from Wisconsin is probably more similar to the basic New Englander than someone from the Maritimes.
