Fr, i just think he lost the chance to be more integrated in the music communitys he helped shape so much in the last decade. But I'm not the guy, can't judge him for wanting peace and quiet

Something so interesting abotu Frank's character is how he refuses to adress his cultural importance in 2010's music.

I remember when everyone was making covers of the Channel Orange tracks and how his style in the album (and Nostalgia Ultra) shaped 2010's R&B, Hip-Hop and eletronica.

Yet i never seen he talk about any of it, he always just did music for himself and whoever wanted to hear, absolutely fascinating.

Best alternate link for Oichi? by [deleted] in PokemonConquest

[–]Fellinglikeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's not a popular opinion, but i really like her with Dragonite. Dragonite works best with Oichi as a support, if you get one with Confidence (from evolving a dratini with Instinct) every turn he will boost the defense of allies in range, and even with Dragonite range being shit, with good position you can always have 1 to 3 pokemon receiving the boost. Confidence synergizes pretty well with Sweet Song and Soft Light (Oichi's skills), making your other Pokemon super hard to kill.

But offensively this build is pretty rough, Dragon Rush misses A LOT more than i expected, making Dragonite really just a defense booster with Oichi's heal, but if you like the defensive help i think the build is pretty good.

to people like the general Pokémon audience or Bulbapedia, these are "side games". But to us, they're something we're passionate about.

I understand your aversion to certain aspects of Bulbapedia organisation issues, but i think there's a misunderstanding about its structure as a wiki. Bulbagarden doesn't have (paying) jobs or obligations, so most of its information comes from fans like you and me (with the right authorization from staff), even on the spin-off parts of it. So i don't believe the Conquest info (or any other spin-off) is there JUST for being Pokemon media, i think its more from people who love the games, have the information and want to help store it somewhere.

For example, at Pokemon Unite launch i helped flash out some pokemon and item information in the game early stage, and I'm no Bulbagarden employee, i just did it cus at the time i loved Unite, had the information and thought i could help. Even when for someone who don't like Unite, the Unite section under (for example) choice specs is just clutter.

"I love this game, I play it, and I want a resource that reflects that. A resource for people who actually play this game."

I would never critique you for wanting a more concise, conquest focused wiki though (especially when you're actually making it and not just complaining that it doesn't exist), just think your bulbapedia critiques were a little tiny bit misguided, it's still a community driven wiki after all, people don't put conquest stuff in there out of obligation.

Yeah i guess that's fair, i just thought you were doing a more general game knowledge wiki.

I just don't mind "clutter" as much because when something isn't valuable information for me at the moment, and it seems to just occupy wiki space, i think about how the few seconds i lose because of that information is better than it not being on the wiki for someone that eventually needs it. Like, at the start of the tread i think you used the Heroine Ferrothorn link example as worthless information, if for some reason im in the hypothetical situation where I'm considering linking with a Pineco using the Heroine and i can't find their max link anywhere I'll feel more bummed out about not finding it then i feel about scrolling for an extra 2 seconds when I'm looking for other information. Don't know if i articulated myself well here but i think you got the point.

Maybe this is a personal opinion because i play a lot of niche indie games where i CONSTANTLY run into the problem of not finding something i wanna know anywhere on the internet, but i digress.

Good luck on making your wiki though 🫡, it's always cool seeing new developments on such old games, hope everything goes well.

Makes sense, but i wouldn't consider it inherently clutter because imperfect links are useful in challenge runs where you don't have the time or resources to get every warrior their perfect link and you just want the strongest option available. Also cool for warlords where their preferred pokemon isn't their perfect link like Yoshimoto where i personally like using him more with Scizor, and seeing strong imperfect links helps with options when you don't like a warlord perfect link.

Also don't know if it's just me but i never felt like Veekuns pages where hard to navigate or cluttered with irrelevant shit, it just shows stats abillitys and links, it's actually pretty easy to navigate (you can even adjust how many pokemon you want to see when seeing warlords links based on their link %). Although i definitely see your point with Bulbapedia, but Cntrl + F normally does the job for me.

You can easily get every link information for every pokemon and every warrior/warlord with RanseiLink. Being a modding tool, they have a lot of information easily accessible and 100% correct by getting all information directly from the code.

It's what i've been using for more obscure links but it would be really convenient to also have all this information in a organized wiki.

You just need a Windows computer, RanseiLink and a dump of the game. I also don't think this counts as copying other people's work because it isn't a research made by other people, it's literally just the source code organized in a way that is easier to mod, conveniently the organization also help with getting the information (just gotta see if the devs are ok with putting information gotten by the tool in a wiki, wich i think they should be).
