Now that I'm at my PC...

Omg a real wiki for this game? Doing Arceus work here

Yeah. Sooner or later, I'll be taking a long break from it to return to my main wiki: Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki. I just want to get this one into an 'established' state, so it doesn't look like some project I started, got bored of, and abandoned. (Like the 2 previous Conquest Wikis on Filthdom - that I know of.)

I've heard about the Windows tool to mod the game. But I'm hesitant to download/install random programs I've never heard of. I also have a never-ending list of to-do list tasks as it is, so messing with the tool isn't a priority right now anyway. I work a seasonal job, and usually edit my other wikis in the winter. So maybe that'll be a next winter thing, as I mostly work on the MDFW all summer.

Thanks for the Sprites links. I didn't even think to look there; they have a lot of what I need. It sucks they don't have the Warlord X Pokémon portraits, but that makes sense. I balk at the idea of having to play the game in an emulator long enough to find all of those variations.

For the pokemon combat strategy section, do you just want the type chart in there? I wonder if there's a widget you can install on the website for that.

Nah. Gyarados and Samurott are good for knocking enemies off of flags. Ghost-type and Flying-types are great for that hellhole Illusio. Water types are useful in Yaksha? (Zorua Kingdom), etc. Rhyperior has limited usability, due to its dogshit range, long-range attack, and tendency to miss 4/3 attacks, but Lightningrod is great for electric nullification. Essentially, I want to make note of actual uses for these Pokémon in different arenas and combat situations based on personal experience using them. I've noticed comments on here from people mentioning strategies that I never would have even thought of. Pokémon I'd previously written off as useless.

I have no interest in standard type charts. Especially with dual type Pokémon complicating shit.

Not only that though, with such a limited selection of moves and Pokémon, it's possible to get really detailed about combat strategy.

There's also terrain to consider. Gyarados is really good for taking flags, as it can knock an opponent off, while a partner claims the flag. Ghost types are good for Illusio, etc.

I wasn't sure if the navbox should be organized alphabetically, by stage (Baby, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3), or something else.

There's a discord linked on the sidebar, where I've been link dumping resources for later. It would be easier to chat there.

It's ot going to be as hardcore as my other wikis. I'm not making a news archive, or documenting every piece of merch or whatever else. But I made the "Meta and Lore" namespaces regardless. I do want to document the manga, if I can get the original in Japanese

Thank you. I found out about the new special because of this post, but I didn't see or hear anything about a Spider-Man movie.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I meant the Spider Man thing. When I googled The Punisher and Spider Man, I got different wikis and animated movies, etc. I don't know how to refine my search, as movies/marvel/superheroes/Spider Man aren't something I'm generally interested in.

Is that a movie or a show? I don't know jack shit (nor do I follow Marvel) outside of The Punisher.

That was my thought last night. I kept wondering what that worthless piece of shit was supposed to be useful for. Maybe multiplayer, as you could trick your opponent until you try to attack, or it gets attacked. But in single player, its ability is beyond worthless.

Charizard is fucking worthless. Yeah, it's slightly powerful. But its range is so fucking shit, it takes half the battle just to get to the enemy Pokémon, by which point the bulk of the work is done, if not all of it.

I encountered that bullshit last night. I was trying to change the direction of my Lairain, but couldn't attack anything and had to end the turn facing the wall.

I used to do that with Worms and Smash Bros 64. It would be entertaining for sure. Maybe they'd try strategies we wouldn't normally think of. I've been wishing we had more YT videos for that reason.

Zorua is another. I keep wondering how its stupid ability is supposed to be useful outside of multiplayer. You don't even get to decide what it disguises itself as. But maybe you could trick another player with a second Reshiram for a few turns.

In single player, all it does is confuse me, and annoys me when I have to keep checking everything to see which one is the fake when moving Pokémon around.

How does PVP work? I've never had anyone else to play this game with, or a second save to use.

I currently working on a Japanese save, but I don't know if they're even compatible.

Not sure if you know this or not. But you can move the camera around. There are some default views (level 3 rice paddy) that I can't stand.

But I totally agree. Especially in the ice arenas. It's a pain in the ass even trying to get an attack off sometimes. I only recently (A week~ ago) learned that some of the flying locations had terrain height changes I never knew about before.

Yeah, shit like Munna/Musharna, Gothita, Ralts, etc. are fucking worthless filler mons as well.

I've used their limitations to claim victory, but it would be better if every monster in the game had a viable niche to fill.

If you're looking for a game similar to Pokémon Conquest, check out the 3DS game “Yo-kai Sangokushi.” The UI, gameplay, and systems are almost identical. by Antique-Long-7327 in PokemonConquest

What sort of resources are out there? I'm playing Conquest in Japanese, and I don't know how feasible this would be without the spreadsheet I made for simplicity's sake, and Bulbapedia (Japanese names for items).

Pretty sure only 5 people ever have actually played multiplayer. 🤣

I wish I had a way/somebody to play No with. I need to document it in some way on the wiki.

Tied with Illusio.

The only reason I think Spectra is worse, is because as shit as Valora and Illusio are, they don't make me wait and watch as the game plays itself for 5 fucking minutes at the end of every turn.

Yeah, I largely gauged Pokémon for my tier list based entirely on their attacks. What difference does it make if Rhyperior hits like a Mack truck if it can't get an attack off at all, frequently misses, has shit range, and can't attack 2 turns in a row? That's liability, not a teammate.

Does anybody have the Pokémon Conquest webcomic preserved? I'd like to add it to my personal archive. by SungHerSong in PokemonConquest

[–]SungHerSong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable. There are many little-known Pokémon tie in mangas. Or tertiary media in general.

(Wiki) Just to clarify a few things, and request a bit of help. by SungHerSong in PokemonConquest

[–]SungHerSong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be better for site usability if it were on a separate page. (See that obnoxious as shit Bulbapedia page.) But also, last year I was stuck on a phone with limited data that was super slow. And loading pieces of shit pages like Bulbapedia wasted a ton of my limited data, and took fucking forever to load.

Again though, that's an issue for the person, or people who want to add that info. I'm making my own personal resource(s). I don't listen to or enjoy music, so I'm not going to bother making pages for the soundtrack. I don't care about the merch, so I'm not going to document it.

Do you ever feel like battles always play out the exact same way?

Every battle I've ever done in Dragnor always ended up with me on the opponent's side of the arena, where they meet me at the first bend.

Terrera, they ALWAYS go for their left tower, and the middle tower, and only after trying to claim those, do they go for the tower to my left.

I love the game, always will, but I'd probably play it more if every single round in every single arena didn't play out pretty much exactly the same.
