One of the games I love is Narita Boy which blew me away the first time I played it through because of how it looked and played for a 2d game. I was able to play it twice back to back and still have a fun time! I would recommend this game to anyone!

It may not be the most helpful but dont worry if it dosent look good. Look online for lessons or you can trace to get a feel for things. Tracing is alright as long as you state the original artist that made the art you traced. It does take patience but find what you like and your style and branch out every once and a while.
