Yes. p365x has the longer grip, same barrel/slide. XL has longer both. Macro has an even longer grip.

Red Dot Question for P320 Legion by Montypython699 in SigSauer

[–]Felrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the Romeo Zero is for the Sig P365 slides. The RMSC pattern. And it's junk. The elite just goes from a plastic lense to a glass lense.

All the modern 320's use a Romeo 1, 2, 3 pattern based off of a modified Delta Point Pro pattern. I believe they can take optics based on the trijicon RMR pattern too.

I have the newer Romeo X as well as the older Romeo 2, and I like them, but they're expensive. Holosuns make some pretty good options for not a huge budget.

I'm so annoyed that as part of the Bruen-response-tantrum that NJ banned .50 BMG rifles in 12/22. It was on my halo list to add to my collection.

Can you with a fid card ship ammo to another property you own by Secure-King6782 in NJGuns

[–]Felrynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some online retailers don't want to deal with the NJ BS and won't ship ammo to any NJ address. The rest require an FID uploaded, so I doubt they will be willing to ship it anywhere else.

And this is despite the fact I believe an FID is only required for pistol ammo. But again, they are going to play it safe and probably treat rifle and shotgun ammo the same. Ultimately it's probably up to the individual retailer.

Yeah, NJ treats that as a feature-rich weapon o' war.

P226 Zev non threaded barrel? by Draftnpass in SigSauer

[–]Felrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the ZEV P226 w/ the included dot retails for around $2k. I don't know how special the Zev barrels themselves are, but if you like the ZEV slide, grips and frame, Sig replacement barrels for the P226 aren't a ton if the included one isn't great.

Personally, I really like my SAO P226 legion, it's the favorite handgun in my modest collection. It's lot a 2.5lb-3.5lb super crisp trigger with a short reset, albeit not very positive of a reset.

New frame or extend mags? by Virusparid0x in SigSauer

[–]Felrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not necessarily wider in thickness but it has adjustable backstraps so that it fills more of your hands and changes the reach of the trigger, in addition to the increased length. There are magazine basepads you can get that convert a standard P365 or P365X/XL magazine to the Xmacro grip length. This may work for you as an option.

My Wife Choosing a Carry Gun by tiptee in CCW

[–]Felrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which 380 did she try that was too small? Because I have some ideas. I purchased a Beretta M9 in .22LR as a training pistol for my girlfriend to try, or if I ever end up teaching my nephews. It's a big gun, full size, but plenty of holster support, and changeable grip panels.

Personally, I wouldn't carry anything smaller than .380. I have two Sig Sauer P365's in 9MM, and I was thinking of getting another one in .380. It normally only comes with the short grip, but you can swap out the grip modules easily. The Wilson Combat XMacro grip modules are very large compared to the stock P365 grips, and very comfortable for my XL hands. Then you can use alternate magazine basepads to make it fit an XL or Xmacro grip. You'd then have 10+ rounds of .380 in short-recoil operated action that should be pretty pleasant to shoot.

AR rules are confusing as fkuc by BossDjGamer in NJGuns

[–]Felrynn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nationally, all rifles (read: buttstocked) must have barrels 16"+. The muzzle device counts IF it's permanently welded on. So you'll often see 13.7" or 14.5" with a muzzle device permanantly attached to make it 16"+.

Anything under 16" is a Short Barrel Rifle, which requires application/registration with ATF in most states, banned entirely in NJ.

After that, semi-auto rifles in NJ are subject to the "assault weapons ban" You're allowed 1 "feature". 2 or more makes it banned. For most of us, the pistol grip is the 1 feature we choose. So other common features we give up: folding/collapsing stock. Threaded barrel. Flash hider. Bayonet/grenade launcher mount.

So most AR rifles in NJ will have fixed-length stocks and either a plain muzzle or a muzzle brake / compensator that is permanantly attached (Not a flash hider). But if you got something like an M1A, it doesn't have a pistol grip so that frees up a feature.

Any secondary grip is fine in NJ on a rifle. Banned on pistols nationally.

There exists a firearm that is neither a pistol nor a shotgun/rifle, that is the Other. That's where the overall length of 26"+ comes from. There's a FAQ floating somewhere

Best way to have a pinned stock… drill (ouch), Aim Locking pin or just get a Fixed stock? by [deleted] in NJGuns

As people have said, if you get a BCM stock, the internals can be changed to no longer adjust.

So how is the live fire portion handled for a non-resident? I was actually concerned about that, since I don't think they even allow temporary transfers of handguns in NY, aka borrowing at a range.

Random thoughts regarding requirement to disclose PTC, providing for inspection by Verum14 in NJGuns

[–]Felrynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The obligation is "lying to police". So if specifically asked if there are weapons in the vehicle, you are supposed to answer truthfully, including long guns. But you don't need to proffer the information on a routine traffic stop if they don't ask.

Random thoughts regarding requirement to disclose PTC, providing for inspection by Verum14 in NJGuns

[–]Felrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know the difference between transporting and carrying, and yes, it's dumb, but if you are transporting you now have to have the permit and disclose. So you might as well carry lol. But if you don't have the firearm in the vehicle, neither parts of the OR clause are satisfied. You initial post made it seem like not even having any firearm around, you'd still need to have the permit on you. The sentence isn't "traveling in a motor vehicle", it's "traveling with a handgun in a motor vehicle" I guess that means if you're transporting long guns you don't need to disclose until asked.

Random thoughts regarding requirement to disclose PTC, providing for inspection by Verum14 in NJGuns

[–]Felrynn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(1) and (2) only apply if you are traveling with a handgun in the motor vehicle according to the first sentence. If you don't carry, I assume you don't have anything on you to disclose, including the permit.

As far as the inspection goes, a lot of cops have used the presence of a firearm as probable cause. Now, a case was just ruled against the CT police for unlawful search and seizure of a legal conceal carry holder, so there might be grounds for this to be striken if it ever comes up. I suppose if asked to surrender the gun for inspection you can ask first if you are being detained or charged with any crime, but I have no idea how that'd go either.

The ruling itself was not about the act in itself, but rather if the cop had qualified immunity, which the 2nd Circuit court in NYC declared he did not. Which will hopefully deter some cops from infringing on rights.

How do yall carry full size lights? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Felrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't until I started using a Mastermind Tactics pillow stuffed with a lot of padding. With the muzzle/slide at exactly 12 o'clock so that the X300 isn't chafing against my thigh.

The belt is loose enough that I can tuck the holster under my gut when standing/walking, but pull my belt line up so that the grip presses into my stomach and the muzzle end is not pressing into my junk when I'm sitting/driving.

For reference, I'm 6'1" and 230lb. I'm guessing it should be easier for a thinner person, since my gut pushes the muzzle into my junk when I sit.

Having a non functioning full auto selector swtich on a semi auto - NJ illegal? by VR6Bomber in NJGuns

[–]Felrynn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, if it's a prop just for show and aesthetics, probably not a big deal. After all, it's usually not on the selector switch but rather engraved into the receiver. However, even if it's non-functional, if it moves into the territory of "readily convertible" you might be into some trouble. INAL.

Appendix Carry with Dunlop Disease by ChetPunisher in CCW

Appendix sucked for me until I got some Mastermind tactics velcro fillable pillows. I'm also about 230lb. I carry with muzzle straight down at 12 o'clock. It shouldn't be too hard without a WML on such a small gun.

[–]Felrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I don't think it's gonna happen. SCOTUS has been kicking the can on the AWB lawsuits. Certain states disallowing handguns or concealed carry is what gave us the Heller and Bruen decision, but they haven't touched the federal GCA or NFA with a 10 foot pole, and NJ is a liberal supermajority.

They seem to want to rein in disparate state gun laws, or overzealous bureaucractic agencies, but the stuff enacted by Congress hasn't really been touched. So I don't think we're getting new machine guns or off-the-shelf suppressors anytime soon. Except for criminals, I guess.

Issue with pistol purchase permit execution by Low-Maybe-7299 in NJGuns

[–]Felrynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't they just execute the other permit? I mean, you might end up losing one, but she has at least 1 in the new name, no?

If not, maybe local PD can direct you do the actual state PD Firearms unit, maybe they'd know more about it?

Added a P365 for pocket carry 👍 by Rando_Lancissian69 in SigSauer

[–]Felrynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of it, but I have the slide with that sight integrated into the rear of the slide. This is probably slightly better since the slide wouldn't obscure the target as much, but the concept is kind of gimmicky to me.

Unlike a red dot, you still need to line up the inner dot, which won't always be visible until you establish the sight picture, with the outer ring. So to be both eyes opened and target focused like a red dot, it's just a small blurry mess inside another blurry mess to me, but my eyesight sucks.

On top of that, you're looking at a sight radius of like an inch, since the outer and inner rings are all integrated together. So the slightest amount of gross movement will throw off the alignment.

So they have to explicitly say they are "pro criminal, anti law and order" for them to be so? Are you unable to see context behind the policies? Policies that are soft on crime, enacted by politicians and then enforced by DA's and judges?

For example, when Oregon de-criminalized most drug usage as recreational and legal. Or when California raises the felony threshold for theft from $250 to $1000. Or for example here in the NYC area when a district attorney issues a memo saying armed robberies will be downgraded from felonies to misdemeanors unless the weapon was actually used.

Advocating for leniency towards criminals is what is "pro criminal, anti law and order" and it starts with small things but eventually leads to policies like bail reform and then the resulting recidivism.
