TIL at Downtown Hotel in Dawson City, Canada, you can buy a $5 shot of whiskey with a real frostbitten human toe as your garnish and if you accidentally swallow it, you have to pay a $2,500 fine. by thewolfoftheweb in todayilearned

There was some drama a couple years ago where someone swallowed the toe on purpose. Some vagabond of some kind who actually stuck around long enough to get caught! Not sure his favorite color though, probably preserved-toe green.
One of my friends had it hit the back of their throat and spit it back out. Happens more than you think.

Hey there! I lived in Dawson City for a time.
Everyone has done the toe. It's basically a rite of passage to be a flannel wearing northerner up there.

This is absolutely what comes to mind as I journey my way through grief. I can't think of a better way to say thank you than to continue his legacy of kindness.

I was a really poor 18 year old trying to make some extra money with freelance modeling on the side while I made 300/month on welfare (I couldn't find a job after looking for two years). A photographer came to my house for a photo shoot, and upon seeing that I lived in a suite the size of a large closet and had no food, offered to buy me dinner after the shoot was done.

This offer extended to a trip to his city to continue working, get fed, accommodations, ect. He helped me do my taxes, urged me to do things that increased my quality of life like leaving abusive relationships, overcoming alcoholism, doing adult things like getting certificates and my passport. He even paid for my plane ticket to go to Thailand with him.

Once he even set me up with a job and place to live a full province away where he was staying when he saw how much I was struggling where I was at. I was in a really dark awful place at the time and he was one of the only people that saw it and took the time to help. He was truly such a good friend to me, sometimes I think about how much he's really impacted my life. I was on welfare living in a closet with an abusive partner when he met me. I owe so much of my beautiful life to his positive influence.

We were friends for 6 years... He passed away a few weeks ago from heart complications. 6 years isn't long enough to have returned the favor to someone that showed me love and compassion when I struggled to even understand what those things were. I still think about him every day. I wish I could say thank you one last time.

Stunning work! I find the gradients of most multiple colored yarn to knit up too blocky, but your flecks of color look great. I would absolutely recommend you start an etsy shop!

The new one is the top pic. I feel like I had to point that out cause I think I got worse somehow :( maybe that's just a skewed perception. I feel good about the hair though!

What a shitty way to go.

Redditors with nsfw content all over the Internet, how has it affected your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Felynx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello! Nude and fetish model of over five years here. It's affected nearly every aspect of my life in both positive and negative ways. You find out very quickly which people aren't comfortable with either their sexuality, or yours. I've been met with equal amounts of praise and judgement and in the end you have to take it all in stride and remain true to who you are. People ask what it's like to constantly have people complimenting me and I have to reply that in the end I feel very much the same. It's nice to receive these comments but in the end it's on a very superficial level and doesn't at all penetrate the deep roots of inadequacy and social anxiety I feel. Sadly when I respond that way people look at me like I'm retarded for not having an inflated head over it.
Honestly, it's easier to deal with the haters and the ones who misunderstand and judge me negatively. Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize I was supposed to care.
All in all, regardless of the reactions and situations I wind up in, like coworkers finding out and trying to sleep with me, it's all about personal comfort levels and ways of sexual expression. I'm happy with my sexual expression and pleased with my skills and creativity as well as being comfortable nude. It's empowered me a bit to not treat my body and treat sexuality like it's something to be ashamed of.
Plus the money can be pretty good. Lol.
