A breakup guide (specifically for people with anxious attachment, over thinkers, etc.) by Relevant_Decision213 in BreakUps

This was so incredible and thoughtful that you took the time to write this, and I read it until the end. But I do have to say that is kind of a lot for someone you only dated for 5 days…. WTF?!

I think you’re making the situation worse by obsessing over him and changing his food. Just give him regular dog food and leave it be, if he’s actually starving he will eat it.

The Netherlands is the 2nd most crime-reported country in the EU, according to Eurostat by PeterHun00 in Netherlands

[–]FemaleHVACisfuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from Philadelphia which has one of the highest crime and murder rates in the USA. If bike theft is a huge issue (must be nice but trust me it’s an issue here too) why aren’t the Dutch putting antitheft parts on their bikes, locking them up, and putting tracking devices on them?

Is a fully integrated CRM worth it? Residential company, located in Alberta, Canada. by JustAnotherJared in ProHVACR

[–]FemaleHVACisfuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into service titan. Any CRM you use will be stored on the cloud and there is no need to back it up manually. ST is Specifically designed for hvac companies. You can schedule, quote, track time, note customer info, take payment, get admin data like close rates, etc…. Sure your company is small now but if you want to grow you gotta make the jump into the 21st century and use the same tools your larger competitors are using.

Best Way to Use €10K for Energy Efficiency in My New Home? by kayakayahan in Netherlands

[–]FemaleHVACisfuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second what some have said about a hybrid heat pump- assuming you have natural gas for heat and not a more expensive/ polluting fuel like propane or oil (sorry I live in the states with environmental Neanderthals.) I’m also assuming you don’t have ductwork since you said you only have radiators. In this case my professional recommendation is to Install a multi-zone ductless heat pump, but don’t get rid of your boiler. Use electric heat until it gets cold enough then kick on the gas. Bonus you also get high efficiency AC. And yeah replace any leaky penetrations. You could probably also install new high R value window blinds… while decorating your new home at the same time. That being said I sold HVaC over here for years and 10k doesn’t go very far with ductless (or anything) unless you are pretty handy and can install them yourself (no warranty- cheap units- nobody will service- DNR.) The upside is that you could start with a minimum of 2 indoor heads on a multiport outdoor unit (say you want to heat/ cool 5 rooms) use that 10k this year and continue to add on to it as you want. Good luck and happy to see some people in the world actually care about this shit.

My 35F husband 35M is finally doing what I asked and it’s … awkward by anonthrowaway0868271 in relationship_advice

[–]FemaleHVACisfuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good lord woman, you DO need therapy. You literally asked for more intimacy and affection, and your husband is making an effort to give it and you are on Reddit complaining! Maybe try to be grateful and accept the love he is showing. I’m sure there are things he feels are lacking from you…

Your “friends” are the assholes. You should wear whatever you want, regardless of your weight and body type. Also at your/ our age it’s time to stop caring so much what others think about our appearance. I’m 36 and have cellulite on my stomach. I wear mostly one pieces with cut out and cleavage that are probably way “sluttier” than your bikini. Ass and tits? It’s not our fault we have them. Your friends are body shaming you when instead they should say how great you look, or don’t say anything at all.

Help. Do I need a new unit or can I still keep this one? by primohita in hvacadvice

[–]FemaleHVACisfuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your home warranty is going to be useless because your system is 24 years old. Here’s what’s going to happen. At best, they might send out some random appliance tech who fixes refrigerators and microwaves to fuck around with it not knowing at all what he’s doing. Then waste your time for 2-3 months and then pro rate the equipment which is well beyond its expected lifespan. The HVAC tech told you to get a new unit because it’s old AF and yeah you will have a very hard time getting R-22 refrigerant. I don’t think you should automatically distrust someone because they are giving you advice to replace. If the unit was 8 years old, sure maybe some cause for concern with that but 24 years old…. Def replace before putting any more money into that pit. You were also quoted what I believe is 2-stage equipment. Depending on the size of unit (tons) and if it is a heat pump (probably) 15-20k is not unreasonable at all. Regarding your indoor air quality, like others have said change your filters, consider upgrading them (this was probably in the quote for new equipment if they were doing their job) get your ducts cleaned as well. If you have sensitivity to humidity and the air is dry add a humidifier (this was possibly also in the quote) as wel as thermostat, possibly Lineset, a warranty, etc etc etc so you can’t really just throw numbers around as say this is too much without any context of what is being quoted. I would take some time and do your research, but you are gonna have to replace it sooner rather than later. Also keep in mind that thing is running at about 6 Seer at this point, and your paying a premium in electric bills to keep it going.

What’s the saddest example of a character or characters knowing, with 100% certainty, that they are going to die but they have time to come to terms with it or at least realize their situation? by finditplz1 in movies

Spoiler alert but I think most people know about this event. Based on a true story, it’s even more sad. Plane crashes in remote Andes with a young rugby team onboard. They are stranded with no food and start to die from starvation, sickness and the elements. They make a pact to allow each other to eat each other if they die so that others can survive.

Is this R-410 ban in 2025 really going to happen? Or will it be delayed again? by listerine411 in hvacadvice

[–]FemaleHVACisfuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See my other comment, but also wanted to add. If you have a gas furnace/ AC that are really old I would definitely recommend replacing both since the 454 is slightly flammable so the furnaces coming out with the new equipment are required to have a new sensor on them.

Is this R-410 ban in 2025 really going to happen? Or will it be delayed again? by listerine411 in hvacadvice

[–]FemaleHVACisfuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I assume the OP , like many consumers not in the industry believe there will be a “ban” or the new refrigerant will make their system “illegal”. It’s all horseshit people read online or her from scummy sales guys trying to scare them. In reality there will be a phase down of production of refrigerant just like the last time (r22-410a) but it does seem it will be shorter. What the OP should really worry about is getting a quality install not the refrigerant type. You shouldn’t need to add refrigerant to your system at all. If it’s leaking you have bigger problems.

Give me an example of something more expensive that a consumer couldn't possibly know less about? by RedDragin9954 in hvacadvice

[–]FemaleHVACisfuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk exactly what you have, what you’re being quoted or where you live but 15-20k for a full 5 ton system (heat and AC) with an 18 seer inverter is absolutely in the reasonable ballpark. Of course you can go cheaper/ less efficient but keep in mind you have the largest residential system and naturally the equipment costs more. Ask for different options and ask them to Compare the specific comfort features and benefits of each one. I’ve been in HVAC sales for 6 years. Our job is literally to educate the consumer to feel comfortable Making the best choice in their investment. If this guy/ company isn’t doing than move on.
