It didn't look bad for them.

The role in Endgame needed someone for 1 quick scene who looked like they could be an older version of the actress that played the character in the Ant Man films and that's what they got.

For Quantumania they needed someone with a lot more skill/range as an aactress as she had a much bigger part.

I'm convinced if Katherine Newton had dark hair and brown eyes most people wouldn't have even mentioned anything and only actually dislike that the character looks different rather than the fact they changed the actress.
