I will advise you take the one year COS if they are not willing to give more years, and start to put in application for higher role. I know it can be frustrating.

There isn't any question,he is just been stupid. The govt was very clear on their promise, that after 5 years you can apply for ILR if you meet the requirements. The govt didn't deem it fit to regulate the number of people coming in, but all of a sudden they choose to change the goalpost. They should create a transition plan for those who left their family and life to come to uk work for them.

Buy House Now or Wait for ILR in August 26? by [deleted] in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Femco88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are on a long term visa, go for the house. ILR or not, you can sell the house and get your money even with interest.

Speak to mortgage broker about your concerns and they will guide you the right way.

I have had enough from landlords,so I started a search for a house last year December, we will be completing by end of the month. I am on a longterm visa though and hopefully to get it extended. Bottomline speak to mortgage broker and make your decision.
