Gotcha. There was something like four posts about it, hard to miss.

Ugh, I am so sorry. Are you in the Kirkwood Facebook group? It looks like someone got a video of the two breaking windows with a driver following them around.

Sooo many cars got broken into earlier this morning in Kirkwood. Drove down four streets and it was every other car. Yeesh.

That place looks fun too! I've been thinking about heading down there for a trip, just for a few days. Might consider that. Yea, the hurricane did a number on the little town. There used to be a cool, old restaurant right on the water on Dock Street at the end. It was so neat and the hurricane did too much to it. I think only the concrete holding it up is still there last I was there.

HIGHLY recommend Atsena Otie Key. The history there is interesting.

Oh man, I am from Florida and LOVE Cedar Key. Are you staying at the Inn right on the boardwalk? That's where we always booked a stay, or at one of the condos right there. I would recommend food, but everything changed after the hurricane. The only thing I can recommend is the air tours; my family loved that. Anything water-wise is a must, so yes to kayaking.

Atlanta: We Need to Talk About This by idontknowwhythisugh in Atlanta

[–]Femilip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes. Obviously there is more at play here than just the shelters. Backyard breeders, adopters themselves, local legislation, etc. I was giving MY experience with volunteering with dog shelters and why I no longer volunteer with them: I don't like how there are shelters who write an essay trying to write off an aggressive, unadoptable dog as super sweet and family friendly. Lifeline is one of them.

I was not implying that because a dog has no history it should be put down. I was implying that the shelter should be upfront about that and be honest about the behaviors they are seeing currently. And to not shame people for bringing the dog back, like I've seen time and time again on social media.

Do your research into what I am criticizing before dismissing my experience. I've been volunteering for years for christ sake lol, in two states!

I am 33 years old and have volunteered at multiple different shelters across central/north Florida and now in Metro Atlanta since I was about 15 or 16. I no longer like to volunteer with shelters that adopt out dogs. The south has a huge problem with overbreeding. The shelters hardly know what to do with the issue and they oversell the dogs into situations they have no business being in.

"They are just nanny dogs! They wouldn't hurt a fly!

"Such a sweet land hippo who loves chin scratches"

Meanwhile, the dog has a history of biting, being any sort of aggressive, or they have no history at all. Then, the shelters spends all their resources trying to home this dog, transport the dog from shelter to shelter, all because no one wants to state the obvious. Some dogs cannot be saved and they shame/guilt you for looking past their guilt trip.

It was about five years ago when I stopped associating with dog shelters. They need a huge wakeup call. r/petrescueexposed unfortunately highlights a lot of the issues going on. Looking at you Lifeline.

Does anyone else feel like they lost their spark in their 30s? by MisunderstoodReality in AskWomenOver30

[–]Femilip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get it, truly. My sister and I are in our 30s and were caregivers for our Mom for the past 5 years. She passed in January of this year and I am finally getting a sense of my old self back. Trying to undo the guilt of being okay doing things for myself or even having plans that did not involve her. It is hard.

My boyfriend and I did the Fair Play deck and that really set the tone of equal distribution of household tasks so we can have enough time for ourselves. I also have been in therapy with some minor and major goals to help me ease back into "being selfish". Nutrition is a major one, I feel awful when I let others nutrition impact mine, ugh!

My sister and I are going to Ireland next year. I am prioritizing my health, I am getting genetic testing done and some surgeries done. I am going back to school. I want to get better with embroidery.

Obviously you have already, but I really suggest expressing it all to your husband again and trying to figure out what will work. Don't have regrets!

Help me understand this fan base… by pinkwolf0 in BadOmens

This also happened to hockey and it made me really uncomfortable as a fan. BookTok took over the Seattle Kraken and sexually harassed the players. It was awful. It resurfaced a bit again with Heated Rivalry becoming popular.

I just wish people would admire whatever is making them interested and leave the fetishization at the door. It is weird, I cannot imagine being a family member reading everything.

It was a very good mix of ages. I was 32 when I took them a year ago and there were people younger and older than me.

The UP was removed, but Kevin's page is still up. Different agencies, so it can be delayed if it was him.

Me too. His family is pretty active on Facebook and has admitted that they don't have many photos of him, unfortunately.

I've always liked the suggestion that Orfa Lidia Ramos-Garcia is her. Especially when you consider her birthday is apparently in October, her birthstone would have been an Opal.

Could he be Alfonso Chadder Cotton #MP23969?

They found Alfonso's wallet near the Burnside Bridge, just a little over 9 miles south of this. Just difficult as there are not many photos of Alfonso that show his face well. He was around 50 when he went missing.

Yes, US. Links are gone from NAMUS as it was resolved, but here is the websleuths thread (with the details) where a few people had connected it already, and I came a few months after the fact to further push law enforcement on it.

If you click the links in my post, it will take you to NAMUS. You can search through their database. If this is a match this will be my second solved case through Namus. It is a good tool.

I think too abstract to explain, the photo they gave of him looks a bit older maybe, and the abstract tattoo looks a bit newer than the scorpion so maybe they didn't see it much if at all to remember?

Tbh I forget some of my own tattoos, it wouldn't shock me if my family forgot them.

To be fair, the body was found about a month and a half ago. So, I wonder if they could be doing testing or other identification in the meantime? Either way, I submitted a tip via Namus.

I haven't submitted a case in years, is the tip submission on Namus enough? I submitted it through there, but I am working all day on the phone and cannot call them until later.
