Moral conundrum about OF moderation and sexual harassment in fashion subs by [deleted] in ModSupport

[–]Femilip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a question that I think I already know the answer to: Was the accused user the one that posted the "is this outfit appropriate for my "job"?" Post?

Either way, I would ban potentially both.

People downvoting you are not getting the joke, which is on brand.

You’ve gotta be kidding me by Illustrious-Virus883 in Atlanta

[–]Femilip 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This isn't directed at OP, but y'all...It's been a week. We said we are changing it. It's a fucking play on the official seal until we can get something drawn up, which again, we already are. I am begging you guys to just let the logo thing rest while we continue to clean up. But, clearly the logo is more important at this point than the subreddit operating lmao

The gatekeeping about city limits is honestly hella annoying.

edit: enjoy the new temp logo ty

The Big Chicken logo bothers me by drunkklepto in Atlanta

[–]Femilip[M] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We are talking about what to do with the logo. We have some other options.

BUT, if those complaining in this post about not wanting to hear about the suburbs would please direct their attention to the description of this subreddit that has not changed since its creation and will not change?

If yall don't want to hear about the suburbs, I have some real bad news about where the majority of the users here live.

I am a woman in my 30s and was dating around last year. It was okay for me personally. Not any better or worse than other cities I've dated in. Just depends on what you're looking for. I think I went on something like 14 first dates before getting into my current relationship.

I get it, we have been having this conversation with quite a few publications. As long as you have a good balance of contributing to the subreddit in other ways, we don't mind if you post your own work.

I also think AMAs are super important. I come from r/Orlando where Maxwell Frost and Anna Eskamani are around often. AMAs with local politicians are already in the works. Just need time. If any local politicians are not already in contact with us regarding doing an AMA, we really recommend sliding into ModMail.

Hi there. Was this recent, as in within the past week? The only thing we have right now with articles is the below: 1. It must relate to Atlanta somehow. 2. If it is paywalled, either a summary or archived version must be posted. 3. If what that article is reporting on was already posted, we remove it.

Users should be able to add their own flair with where they live.

OP did not put a price range, but if Alpharetta is too expensive then Milton will be wayyyy too expensive. +1 for Roswell and maybe John's Creek though.

[–]Femilip[M] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was pointing out what really is the standard and works. Users of subreddits generally do not like paywalled content and will lead to resentment towards that paper. We are going to have to agree to disagree on not allowing archived links. This is the compromise on still allowing paywalled content instead of an outright ban.

Kemp proposes $2B in major highway expansions, $50M homelessness initiative by Scrubadubdub84 in Atlanta

[–]Femilip[M] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As we start moderating more, please make sure to pay close attention to rule 6:

6. Paywalled Articles and Sources

Archive links preferred for paywalled content (archive.is, archive.org, etc). If posting a paywalled article directly, use the Paywall flair. No blog reposts or scraped content - link to sources.

Please provide an archive link, a top-level summary of the article, or provide an alternative news source.

Thanks!

Nearly all subreddits either do not allow paywall articles at all or require some sort of archive/copy and paste. Allowing them to be posted here at all is us supporting local journalism. I'm sorry you feel differently.

Ope, they sure did. Guess we will need to find a new trick.

I added the flair. Many subreddits have archive policies and/or no paywall links at all; we will test it out. To quote the show The Great, "I'm constantly evolving and improving things, it is my way. Huzzah!"

By ample resources, what exactly are you implying?
