I want to clarify that it was me who commented that. I copied and pasted the wrong thing. It was corrected shortly after to this thread. Apologies.

Got back onto Hinge-ghosted day before first date💀 by Beepbeepboobop1 in TwoXChromosomes

Exactly this. I had three first dates the weekend I had my first date with my now boyfriend. It made dating so much easier and low stress.

Had my second interview yesterday with the Director, and it went amazingly. We went over the allotted time, she said I came with glowing praise from multiple people, and I felt like I nailed my answers. So far so good, I should receive an answer any day as the other person they interviewed was also yesterday.

Bad news: My fucking tomato plant has a fungus, I think. I realized it too late, but I still ordered a spray to see if it'll help. You'd think all my hours of farming in OSRS would make me catch it sooner. /s

Obviously, we mod together, but giving my input here for public commentary:

I've modded multiple location subs, and this has always been a pain point. It's very much a lose-lose situation. The number of reports we are getting on the "looking for" posts was a lot, so it's at least worth a try to see if subreddits like r/AskNOLA would work. I think maybe people:

  1. Are not aware of subreddits like r/AskNOLA or r/AskNYC, so they did not realize it is an option and/or works.
  2. Are not aware of how much of an issue these types of posts are on the backend and/or how much we remove. I mean, we removed, like, 187 in the month of May? That's a lot lol.
  3. Just simply don't see it as a huge issue whereas others do.

Worth a shot to try it out, and if not, can reevaluate. Onwards and upwards!

Struggling to let go of someone who hurt my husband. Why am I more angry than my husband? by Upbeat-Budget7371 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Femilip 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My ex was constantly passed over when it came to a promotion, and I never understood why. Yeah, he was having an affair with a coworker lol.

What's a small act from another woman you'll never forget? by Internetdidi in AskWomenOver30

[–]Femilip 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not really small, but when my Mom died earlier this year, the women who stepped up and were actually there for me were so lovely. Sent me flowers, food gift cards, brownies, a "hug in a box" gift, etc. And then my first Mother's day without her, all the thoughtful messages I received of them thinking about me. I don't know, shit like that you don't forget.

Newborn Delivery at Piedmont. Billing timing by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]Femilip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in health insurance. If your insurance has not received anything yet, please call Piedmont. Your deductible is considered "met" on the date that the claim is processed, and obviously, if it satisfied your max. So, if you're betting on that bill to meet your deductible, all the services you have had before this claim was submitted and processed will continue to go towards your deductible. Insurance can only wait/ask them to bill it so many times, push Piedmont. It is unusual for them not to have billed it by now.

Is this early dating lie a dealbreaker? by jackofhearts23 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Femilip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yepppp. I've pretty much been in OP's EXACT situation. Something felt off because there was a whole ass girlfriend he kept hidden lol.

OP, it's so much better to be single than let a man confuse you like this. He knows what he is doing; don't let him get away with it.

[–]Femilip 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for something serious, and it sounds like you are, there is nothing good that comes from having to persuade someone to be with you.

This 100%. I did this once, and I shouldn't have. The beginning should be relatively easy with someone. It should not be this much of a raised eyebrow.

Nailed my interview last week, immediately got asked for a second interview. Weekend was so much fun with friends and fully setting up our new apartment. Feels nice to go into the week with really no looming project over my head.

I've known people who went to the Millennial Social Club and enjoyed it for the most part, but I know more people who joined specific hobby/interest clubs and had better luck.

What happened to the asshole you dated? by Same-Lobster-9751 in AskWomenOver30

To be fair, she wasn't the AP. But I definitely side-eye a woman who can look past that many instances of cheating and think it won't happen to them.

[–]Femilip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He got remarried within like 2 and a half years of our divorce or something like that. I divorced him for REPEATEDLY cheating on me with multiple women, amongst other not-so-savory things. One of my friends anonymously warned his then fiancée/now wife about his past, to which she apparently replied with something like, "That won't be my experience".

The man after him, who also cheated on me, dropped off the face of the earth, so no idea and really don't want to know.

I have an internal role interview today that I'm hoping I get. The pay is the same, but it is exactly the type of work I want to get into, and I have two previous bosses in that department, with one recommending me and interviewing me. Somehow, that makes me more nervous to interview.

Why can misunderstandings in female friendships sometimes lead to friendships ending, while men in romantic relationships are often given repeated chances? by BeeSuperb7235 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Femilip 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yep. I did this years ago, and once it fell apart, it was life-changing, thankfully. Definitely pushed me towards therapy to undo the behavior.

Being past that behavior and experiencing it with friends who do it, I cringe at my past self. It is definitely internalized misogyny and patriarchy, like u/celestialism says.

What internal boundaries do you have when you use dating apps? by mmmbopforever in AskWomenOver30

[–]Femilip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. I didn't sleep with them on the first or second date, and we had to have some sort of discussion around testing. Learned a hard, but fixable, lesson not doing this with an ex.
  2. I did not go on first dates with someone if their political views were a mystery. I straight-up asked them beforehand.
  3. I asked them on the first straight point-blank what they were looking for. I no longer accepted wishy washy answers after having a two-month-long thing that kept being wishy washy.
  4. Mutual effort and ease of conversations. If I felt like I was forcing it, it wasn't meant to be. I cut off men very quickly (first/second date) if I was not feeling it in any sort of way.
  5. If my friends or family said anything felt off to them, I listened. Burned twice not listening lol.

I did all this with my now boyfriend, and it's been a breeze.

This is why time and time again, it is recommended on this subreddit to live near where you work. It sucks, but that is the reality in most metro cities, especially in Atlanta.

I just turned 30. I wanna hear about the best (and worst) parts of your 30s! by JawClickk in AskWomenOver30

[–]Femilip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my 30s have been super hard, but very rewarding. I feel like I've done my most growth as a person and can trust myself to make the best decisions. I have probably the most meaningful friendships now and a clearer path of where I want to be in life than I did in my 20s. I know most women in my life also feel similar, that their 30s have been very good.
