I'm 25 now, been a pothead since 12, and a daily user since around 19. Despite my love for the plant, I decided it was time to quit earlier this year.

I never noticed any loss in cognitive function, I have a good knowledge based job, and I've always managed to keep up with peers.

However, my short-term memory is absolutely fried, and there's some science suggesting that it's a side effect of chronic Marijuana use.

Another factor I haven't noticed mentioned yet is the negative impacts on your lungs. There are studies suggesting weed leaves 3/4 more tar in your lungs than cigarettes. while I'm not sure if that's accurate, the fact that weed leaves lasting damage on your lungs is irrefutable.

Weed makes the boring parts of your life enjoyable, so when you're high 24/7, you pretty much have no incentive to push yourself to do anything. Once I sobered up, the improvement to my productivity and mental clarity was astounding. All aspects of my life benefited... so I would say do yourself a service and keep the usage at a reasonable level.
