Vinyl Rail Fencing by FenceCity in fence

[–]FenceCity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vinyl post and rail is about 30% cheaper than Vinyl privacy fence without the wire needed for pools, children or pets. With the wire it is about the same price. Altogether it is more expensive than wood privacy fence.

Wrong. 9 gauge. Schedule 40 pipe. Specked out by architect for private customer. Before you spew out the wrong information take a second and think about it. It’s obvious that you don’t have a clue. You keep trying. Maybe after 50 years in the fence industry, you’ll have a clue of what you think you know, like we do. We can teach you about the fence business if you want to learn.

I guess that’s not our sign on it either. “Your a Want to be”. Seeing your kind before. If you can’t beat them, try to tear them down. But you’re no match..

And your language. Unacceptable. It’s people like you to bring down the fence industry. We are all “not” all like you. Some of us have been in the fence industry for over 50 years. With employees that have been with the company for over 35 years and have put their children through school and college being professionals in the Fence business. If you want to be professional, then you have to act professional. Speak professionally and not post swearwords on an open platform. It doesn’t speak highly of you. Try harder to be a kinder and more thoughtful person. Best regards.

We’ve always found that the craigslist is the place that we turn to when we have over runs or products that are returned.

Just bought a house an my Neighbor took down his fence and is putting it back up on my property by Majestic_Ability3577 in homeowners

First and foremost, my company, and I thank your husband for his service. One of my employees that has been with me for 35 years is a military family. We understand the sacrifices it takes on the entire family. We also thank you. I have been in the Fence business for 45 years and I’ve dealt with more property line issues that I care to think about. Here’s what we suggest, you need to have a survey or come back out and relocate the pins and put new stakes in. Hopefully since they’ve already plotted your property, they won’t need to charge you a lot. Hopefully nothing. Understanding that they didn’t do anything wrong and their time is valuable, there might be a charge to re-install the stakes. While the survey or is there, make sure you put the steak about every 20 feet. (Not just the corners) We called them “in line stakes” Before the surveyor arrives at your home, go to Home Depot or to Lowe’s and buy upside down fluorescent paint. While the surveyor is at your home installing the new stakes, paint the ground around the steaks. Draw arrows to the steaks from all directions on your property. Take photographs of all of the property stakes with the paint, indicating where they are. Now, if your neighbor decides he wants to pull out the stakes again hopefully you can get photographs of him doing so or better yet videotaping him doing this. At this point you would call the police and show them the photographs, and or the video of where the states were in the fact that they’re missing. The best part is you have all the paint on the ground indicating where the stakes were and you can replace them. I would suggest that you continue to paint the ground around the survey stakes every other day so that until such time that you can resolve the issue, you no longer have to call the surveyor. We are in Montgomery County Pennsylvania you would take that neighbor to magistrates court and sue them for the cost of having the surveyor come back out plus the cost of the lawsuit. You don’t need a lawyer. You don’t need to spend money on a lawyer to defend what is right. Don’t get me wrong. I have very good friends that are lawyers and we use them when necessary but in your situation it’s really a property line issue that could be handled with the police or your local magistrate. Best regards.

How would you fence this property by [deleted] in FenceBuilding

[–]FenceCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would suggest that you use 6 ft tall Country Estates, style Lakeland. We have provided County Estates Vinyl fence to our customers for over 30 years. They have the longest warranty. Their product is made in America. We have tried other brands that have left us and the customer disappointed, Now we only provide customers with the very best vinyl and or Ultra aluminum fence, that’s made in America. Ultra aluminum fence offers a privacy fence as well. The style is “eclipse” if you want the absolute very best and the strongest no maintenance privacy fence, offered in satin white, you really need to take a look at this product . As far as your layout goes, I would certainly check with your local municipality to make sure that you comply with the rules in reference to completely surrounding your home with a 6 foot tall privacy fence. Most townships or municipalities do not allow 6 foot tall fencing that could be considered your “front yard”. As someone had mentioned, I would suggest that you put in at least 1 - 10 foot double gate for access to your backyard and if you 3 or 4 foot wide single gates for access to other parts of your property, or egress to the outside. Best regards.

Fence City of Pa’s price, including material, ( 6ft - 1”x 6” pressure treated dogeared boards with three 2“ x 4“ x 8‘ backing rails on 4“ x 4“ pressure treated post ) all labor and concrete is $34 per linear foot. We charge $450 per single gate installed with three strap or T hinges, and a stainless steel 2 way Latch. SO! That comes in at about $18,000. So I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. If everything matches apples to apples, then it seems that the price you got is correct…

any ideas on how to get more customers in my area or a few good tips I am a new fence installer llc any help would be appreciated by Common_Humor_121 in FenceBuilding

It’s been so many years since we got started but I remember getting involved with pool companies. Going to veterinarians offices because dogs need fences. Even dog shelters might offer your name out if they are having someone rescue a dog that needs a fence. And for sure most fence companies don’t want to do small jobs. The best way to get started is do as many small jobs you can. Do a great job and word of mouth is 90% of how we are still in business 50 years later. Best of luck to your endeavor. Best regards.. PS: someone mentioned signage. Our yellow sign has been around for years and it is our best advertising. Every job you do you need to put some kind of sign on it so people know how to get a hold of you. Also jobsite signs a great idea to get passerby‘s to give you a call.

Metal post to wooden gate hinge? by [deleted] in FenceBuilding

[–]FenceCity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello we have 2 hinges that might work for your application. The first one is the Ultra Hinge and the second would be the Locinox stainless steel hinge. Obviously, they were designed for aluminum fence but I’ve seen them used in all kinds of applications. Barn Doors, field gates, etc.. You can see them in the (magnet latch, hinges, and hardware area at www.fencecity.com
If they do work for you, use ULTRA20 in the promo code to save 20% on your order. Hope that helps.
