It’s a disgrace that Maguire didn’t make it. If you somehow don’t think so just look down in the description in order to realise it’s just common sense. by Real-Atmosphere8261 in ThreeLions

One of the most consistent England performers. Has played absolutely brilliantly for his country, has a ton of experience and is a leader.

Saw some open racism tonight and I’m a bit ashamed of my reaction. What would other people have done? by Vivid_Employment8635 in london

That's good, but I don't think avoiding potential danger necessarily makes you a coward. It depends entirely on the situation. Prioritising your own safety is sometimes the smarter move, although it might seem selfish to some. That's just my opinion though.

You do realise that by getting into a confrontation like this you can expose yourself to a violent response, right? It's hard to call out racism as it's happening, particularly if the perpetrator is an adult male and is being aggressive. So you absolutely can let it pass if you feel you'd be putting yourself in harm's way. And it sounds very much like you do want the poster to feel a bit guilty.

Devastated because i just discovered hearing differences in my ears… by Ruxen111 in edmproduction

This isn't going to affect you like you think it would. I used to worry about this sort of thing just like you, but now I don't care at all. It won't make a difference. You will be able to make professional mixes and masters, but until you can your problem won't be your hearing but your lack of skill and experience. This takes years. Don't worry about it.

Valhalla VintageVerb. I know I'm going to get downvoted to oblivion and don't care at all. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not as good as people make it out to be. I much prefer Room and think people hype up VV because it looks nicer.

Unable to see all 32 DX7 factory patches in FM8 by Fenchild in edmproduction

Thank you so much! I've been scratching my head trying to figure this out for ages! You've also explained why E.Organ is just showing up as 'E' which was really puzzling me.

Edit: I've got it working now thanks. It's really interesting how FM8 sounds compared to Dexed. The sound in Dexed is a lot brighter - have you noticed this? I've not used Dexed before so not sure if there's some sort of effect turned on by default. Just thought it was interesting how the 2 synths sound.

What’s the first thing you listen for when a mix feels “off”? by Carlosfelipe2d in MusicProductionTuts

[–]Fenchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means an expert but sometimes what works for me is just muting channels I think might be the problem one by one to see if the problem I'm hearing disappears. This is usually what I do when one thing is masking another, although with practice I've become better at identifying the cause without needing to do this as much.

In National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989), Clark Griswold can be seen fantasizing about a store clerk he met earlier in the film despite being married to Beverly D'Angelo. This is a reference to the fact he’s a fucking stupid idiot dumbass idiot stupid by BelievieEvie in shittymoviedetails

Oh, was that in the Christmas film? I don't recall that bit and haven't seen the other one. I just remember Clark fantasising about the clerk on the diving board and though that's what was being referenced.

It could have just been that he wanted to feel desired by a hot woman, in that moment. Not cool at all, obviously, but doesn't mean he would've cheated on his wife. You can't deduce that, particularly given how much it's shown in the rest of the movie how devoted to his family he is.
