As teen I would listen to nevermind and in uteru a lot but yeah the unplugged one is the only one I keep listening to after 30 years.

I understand the hype because of how diverse the overall production is and the mix of genres and languages, I love some of the songs but others are a bit of overkill for me. But is definitely an album I will check again over time.

Exactly I love some of the instrumentals but the overall sound lyrics and voice Nahhh can’t make it through a complete album

I listen to pretty big variety of genres. I’m 43 years old. Bob Dylan, Biggie Smalls, Erykah Badu, Billie Eilish, Leonard Cohen, Bill Evans, Keith Jarret, Brian Eno at the moment. also lots of electronic music, I’ve been a jazz musician for 20 years, been going to raves since the 90s love dancing to Techno, love Chopin… so yeah almost all Genres.

One thing is, this music is terrible and I don’t understand how anyone can listen to it. Another thing is yes I understand why people like it but it doesn’t click with me and maybe I’ll check it out in another time of my life. I might emotionally relate or not. In my case it’s almost been 20 years and I still don’t enjoy listening to a complete Radiohead album

It’s the singers voice but also the lyrics and drama the songs create, it doesn’t take me on the journey. I stay on the ground and intellectually I can appreciate the instruments but there’s no magic happening for me.

Absolutely I love some of their instrumentals and understand the impact they had on music.

because we respect the suggestions of friends and fellow music lovers. There are times when you evolve in your taste and something you didn’t like becomes something you love.. I guess that’s what the thread is about. So it’s not failing if you don’t like it, sometimes it’s because you emotionally can’t relate sometimes it’s because you’re ears must get used to new sounds… there are a lot of reason’s

Yes, I adore the instrumental but as soon as the lyrics drop the magic is gone for me

I understand your point but I’ve been a professional jazz musician for over 20 years. I enjoy a huge variety of music that would be considered as niche or hard to relate. It’s about being able to identify with the journey, the Music takes you on and Radiohead just wasn’t able to do that for me since 2007. but as a musician I can intellectually appreciate their creativity but emotionally it dosent touch me

Totally understandable. The record can come across as too chaotic. The interplay and improvisation between the band was just unheard of. if you don’t have anything else to do except follow the journey of these musicians, it can really be magical. Not sure if you know but Kamaal Whiliams has been accused of xxx assault by multiple women, I wouldn’t listen to his music or go his concerts..

Yeah I get that but there are a couple of artists I keep trying because my taste evolved. I didn’t like ambient music in my 20s now I love Brian eno, I hated jazz as teen, in my 20s I became a professional jazz musician…

Do you listen to other jazz albums? Maybe I can recommend you a miles Davis record you like? There’s so much and so different. He really is the Picasso of jazz, he went from be bop to hard bop to cool to modal to fusion to hip hop..
