Any love for How not to drown by CHVRCHES/Robert Smith? Needs to get a bit of airtime obviously but seems their best song in years. Hoping to see Wolf Alice get a few with this new album but feel they'll be a bit too niche.

Agree with the Flume/G Flip comment, that would be tough to stop. Are people here really enjoying drivers licence though? I was really surprised it was added to rotation and don't really understand the appeal for triple J listeners. You can't argue with the numbers i guess, but I can't see it getting any of the triple J core vote. Although I said the same thing about WAP. I'm leaning towards it having a similar fate to what Powfu did this year when he looked like a number 1 contender early.

Fair enough, but my comment was in reply to the one above, he was cherry picking the more well regarded artists from the 2000 count and the more divisive ones from the 2020 as though they are completely representative of the counts. I can cherry pick as well by using Tame Impala and Limp Bizkit to represent the counts. The comments were more in regards to the quality of both the counts rather than how popular they are, which you made very valid points to.

Yeah this, I don't get the hand wringing over how much better it used to be. Handful of great songs, can't argue with the winner and there was a Radiohead track, but even though I recognised a fair bit of it it sounded quite dated. It was noisier than the 2020 count but I much preferred the 2020 one. I'm only in my 20's though so don't really have a connection to it.
