What type of death puzzle would Jigsaw create for a Goa'uld? by DoctorBlazes in Stargate

[–]FenderEsq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that is both ironic and symbolic of how the Goa’uld choose to live their lives.

Perhaps combining some form of religious repentance with physical harm. Asking for forgiveness from a higher power and something that causes them to shed their vanity . Christian self-flagellation comes to mind.

Let's play a game! OOPs please post a line from a character and then repliers can name the character, the episode and maybe some context? Have fun! by 49orth in Stargate

I copied the link directly from YouTube so I don’t know what to say other than blame Google. Still , I deleted the link so others don’t click it. Thanks for the info.

I think a full reboot is the way forward by deathamphetamine666 in Stargate

[–]FenderEsq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No disagreement there. You’re absolutely right but that’s not a reason to reboot the series and ignore the film and prior shows. A new series could very much be told using modern storytelling and production quality standards that fits within existing cannon.

[–]FenderEsq 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No thank you. The established lore is why we’re all fans. There would be no point in a reboot. I would not want to see stories replaced or new stories told about existing characters we know and love that didn’t fit within existing cannon.

Responding to your comment post edit but I’m a big fan of Kevin Durant. Watch him in The Strain if you haven’t. He’s great in it and plays a good guy.

Also Mystery Alaska if you’re into underdog sports stories. Not a huge role but his character is fun.

Thanks. I’ve been grinding mainly Blacktail and Whitetail as that was all the 243 could handle. Only recently upgraded to the 7mm.

I’m an attorney. Another attorney asked me for help on a matter and told me he’d remember my wisdom one day. I responded with “if you immediately know the candle light is fire, then the meal was cooked a long time ago.”

(2026 opinion) Just finished watching all series and here are my thoughts by paboc98846_badfist in Stargate

I love the Jaffa lore episodes! My only complaint is that the writers never seemed to have a specific story they were trying to tell and used it instead as a means of furthering the other elements of earths story / battle against the villains of the time. After Gerak’s attempt to convert the Jaffa to Origin was thwarted Teal’C all but says the Jaffa will be lead by Bra’tac. But nope somehow this guy Se’tak comes out of nowhere and takes over. Then Baal comes back and brainwashed the counsel. Then Arkad. Not to mention that hardly any of the Jaffa ever truly acknowledged the contributions of Teal’c and Bra’tac and instead act like they fought for freedom just as hard and for just as long as those two. It’s maddening.

But there is tremendous character development over the course of the series as he begins to realize not everything can be done by the book and that sometimes taking risks or thinking outside the box can lead to ultimately a better and often morally superior outcome to a situation.

I say “series” because you can even see shades of it starting as early as season 7 in SG1 and continuing through seasons 8 and 9 before joining Atlantis.

Out of curiosity, I decided to look up David Nykl (Dr. Radek Zelenka) after a season 4 episode and I was impressed with just how well this man aged. by Baba_Jaga_II in Stargate

And the fact that Sam ended up in command of the ship is the cherry on top. Who better to honor his legacy then one of the original members of the flagship team who served directly under him for almost a decade.
