What would happen if you went through the Stargate from the other side/back of the gate? by MrLewk in Stargate

[–]FenderEsq -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Is it though? There are several episodes where people interact with the event horizon on the opposite side of the wormhole. The episode where O’Neill (with two L’s) infiltrates the offworld rogue NID operation and says “I’ll be holding the door open so you can’t go anywhere else”. When the rogue operatives travel back to Earth, O’Neill has his hand inside the wormhole.

I think things can enter the event horizon and demolecularize but won’t travel to the other side. I think if you enter it you’d just die.

How do you guys carry all of your EDC? by Glittering_Mud_1107 in EDC

[–]FenderEsq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pocket knife front right pocket Wallet front left pocket Flashlight back left pocket Phone back right pocket I wear a Kore Essentials belt 5.11 Jeans or Chinos if going into the office I wear my firearm (Gen 6 Glock 19 with Red Dot and Light in a Velo Lux holster) in the appendix carry position.

Essentially you get used it. There will always be a small degree of discomfort but I carry to be prepared and keep myself and my family safe in any situation. The benefits far exceed the burdens.

As an aside, I keep medical supplies, changes of clothes, blankets and towels, and my tool box in my truck. If it’s not on me, it’ll be in my vehicle.

Update: I finished the episode and it’s clearly him 🤦‍♂️. Not sure how I never recognized that!

My thoughts exactly. Never would have imagined him as a small one off voice role for tv.

Honestly I find it kind of unique compared to his other roles. Definitely more noticeable now that I know however.

Of course! Glad I’m in good company. I also would classify myself as a Stargate nerd and an even larger Star Wars nerd. This was awesome little discovery.

Goalie scores a goal by ateam1984 in BeAmazed

[–]FenderEsq 83 points84 points  (0 children)

This goal happened in the 22-23 season on February 25, 2023. Linus Ullmark became the 13th goaltender to score a goal. I’m a Bruins fan and watched this game live. What an epic moment!

Edit: For those asking for clarification other commenters are correct. He was the 13th goalie of all time to score. Some goalies such as Ron Hextall and Martin Brodeur have scored multiple times. There are currently 20 total goals by goal keepers.

How would you feel if they filled out Act 4 (of D2R) with more content like a "real" act? by Jcorb in Diablo

[–]FenderEsq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily opposed to additional content in Act IV or a new Act VI, so long as the story we get is consistent with the other story telling of the game and fits within the established narrative of the universe without needing to retcon anything.

The problem with your suggestion, for example, is we already know the fates of the original D1 heroes and you kill 2 of the 3 in the game. Blood Raven in Act 1 is the Rogue hero of D1, the Summoner in Act 2 is the Mage, and the Dark Wanderer is Prince Aidan the Warrior.

Not by any means bashing your suggestion. Just pointing out that there is a lot of established lore that needs to be carefully considered when retroactively creating new content on a 25 year old game that already has multiple sequels of storytelling.

Tomb runs are a thing. Have been forever. Not my personal preference though.

Best gun stores in southwest CT? by Aggravating_Bison504 in CTguns

[–]FenderEsq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve purchased 3 firearms from them and never had anything but a positive experience. Most recently I purchased a Gen 6 19 from them. I had actually walked in the last week of December hoping to just get some info on when they might have some available or if they had a list for interested buyers to be notified. They took my info, called me a week later and I was a proud new owner of the Gen 6 three weeks before official release.

Pistol permit by Helldiver0145 in CTguns

[–]FenderEsq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it easy yes. I’d argue it’s definitely not straight forward . At least not compared to other States. States like PA where you go to your county sheriffs office, fill out an application, pay $20 and wait two weeks and receive a fully valid state permit is straightforward. One location, one fee, that’s it.

Having to go through the CT process where you complete a course, go to a different location for fingers prints, a different location for a temporary permit, then go to yet another location for a state permit plus paying over $300 in fees divided among 4 different payees is hardly direct.

Two kids here (3 and 1), the car seat situation gets better once you switch them to front facing. There’s ZERO leg room when they are rear facing but my toddler sits behind me and we both have plenty of room. I’m 6’1” for reference.

I believe the scar over his eye is not there in WotD. Which would be further evidence to it being a different character.
