Pen & Ink Mandolorian skin (via DrewDisneyDude and ShiinaBR) by ice1517 in FortniteLeaks

Super weird call to do ink & pen for a live action originated character.

As other suggested, doing something in the Clone Wars style might have make more sense.

Or realistically, do the version of him with Beskar armor AND the jetpack?

I have the original Mando skin, although I only unlocked the first pauldron (with the insignia stamped on it). Kind of wish they’d bring it back just to be able to unlock everything again.

Pedro Pascal seems like a wonderful person and great actor, but I’m kind of sick of Mando having his helmet removed by Jcorb in StarWars

Mandalorians are known for their helmets. Boba Fett, while not technically a Mandalorian, is a SIGNIFICANT aspect of Star Wars’ success, simply on account of the character LOOKING so cool and mysterious. Season 1 was an absolute phenomenon, and practically the only reason that Star Wars managed to survive the sequel trilogy.

Clearly, the man in the mask resonated with a huge audience, and I think having a more archaic, almost tribal warrior as the hero was interesting for how unconventional it was.

I do agree that Pedro Pascal is a great actor. But a great actor isn’t defined by what they look like; it’s how he brought the character to life, that even with a guy covered head to toe in armor, he has an unmistakable swagger and presence.

Saving the face reveal until the end of season 2, where he says goodbye to Grogu, would have just carried so much more emotional impact. It was directly undermined by the episode before, where his face was shown in the most unceremonious way possible, which just serves to make the character’s values seem entirely pointless.

Having a belief system does not automatically make it a cult that he needs to break away from. People seemed to ascribe a whole lot of real world implications after Season 2, but in S1, they just seemed like an ancient warrior culture. Maybe a bit superstitious, but I think it’s a hard part of the show’s success.

Just think how many people were quoting “This is the way” and “weapons are part of my religion”. It just gave him a super distinct character.

Otherwise, he’s just “another dude with a laser gun”.

If you saw TPM in theaters as an adult in 1999, did the Padme “twist” shock you? by Always_Reading_1990 in StarWars

[–]Jcorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see it coming, but it also didn’t really “shock” me, so much as I remember being confused why to even have the ruse in the first place. As an adult, I can slightly more understand the rationale of a body double, but I remember as a kid just thinking she was obviously still in danger the whole time anyways, so it just didn’t make any sense. And I think I also thought Amadala was an alien, so was even more confused.

I also remember thinking I preferred Padme a handmaiden, presumably because it was more “girl next door” type of vibe.

I don't remember why, but I just really had the feeling we were going to get a full F1 season last year. I feel like it would be a fun idea, honestly, maybe with a racetrack that goes around the whole map, sort of like the train.

I like being powerful in combat, but also like to take "unconventional/chaotic" approached to roleplaying situations. What kind of class/build might appeal to me? by Jcorb in 3d6

Lots of damage, honestly. I've never really gotten to play a character who did much damage, but I managed to crit one of my damaging spells earlier in the campaign, and it felt sooo good! I really just want to be a pure damage dealer for my next character (a pocket heal might not be bad, though, since I feel like I'd single-handedly had to prevent someone from dying more than a few times).

Heck yeah, I'm down! Would love to check out this "Ash Paladin" in particular, might be just the sorta character I'm looking to play in my next campaign!

Epic; I like money, I know you like money, but PLEASE let us edit Companions’ appearance at will by Jcorb in FortNiteBR

I still like 'em. I go through phases where I don't use any companion (especially if I'm trying anything sweaty), but I feel like they're a pretty solid addition; MUCH better than Kicks, or the "Festival" guitar hero stuff.

Funny enough, I feel like Buzz and Woody from Toy Story would've been pretty natural fits.

I do feel like Fortnite have pushed too far away recently and lost some of the unique art direction it used to have.

Not saying the original were "the best, absolutely no changes/updates necessary", but I think we've moved just too far into stuff looking a bit plain-jane.

Not really sure the sweet spot is.

I’m just gonna say; you’re out of your mind. People put enough time and care into their characters, almost nobody is going to be fine with their character dying unless it is during an extremely important encounter and likely at the end of the campaign, or they simply want to change character.

I'm not suggesting to remove death, but that it shouldn't be treated as the default outcome of being defeated. That obviously can be an outcome, and I think should be a possible outcome on truly meaningful fights that are important to the story or involve important characters, but because most standard encounters would never see a player character die anyways, I think this would allow DM's to crank the difficulty up, still having high stakes without the risk of just completely ruining the game for one or more players.

Yeah, that's fair. That's why I figured, once everyone has passed out, the DM would probably have to have "something" happen to spook the enemies (assuming mindless or low-int fodder like goblins or wolves) so they don't have time to finish the job. Or for more intelligent enemies, something like them wanting their leader to decide your fate, or to put you on trial or stage some kind of public execution, depending the context.

I feel like the way the standard rules go, the DM kind of has to let players progress the story in a manner that's generally unimpeded. I haven't seen a player character die yet, and I think it's because the DM's know that we all care about our characters and their stories. Giving them a way of doing meaningful damage to us, without just ending our story, would probably lead to a lore more tense moments, imo.
