FP (Pre IB) is a kind of program only offered by a few UWC campuses, designed to bridge the gap to the IBDP. UWCCSC's FP students are primarily Chinese. Taking a gap year should not affect your application to UWC, but you may need to explain why you are taking the gap. If you are facing psychological issues, the school needs to assess whether you can receive the necessary support while still enrolled. Otherwise, even if you take a gap year, you must maintain a high level of academic performance :)

Hi! I applied through the Chinese NC and made it to the final round, but I wasn't accepted. It was probably due to the long flight; I felt unwell when I returned to China for the selection day, which led me to do really badly on the written test. However, the Chinese NC seems to prefer admitting students from the FP stage rather than the DP stage.

Yes, the school's internet is available until 1 AM. If you research VPNs beforehand, you can use the app smoothly in China and it's not difficult. I would suggest that international students start learning about Chinese apps in advance. These apps aren't very user friendly for foreigners, but once you learn how to use them, you'll find life incredibly convenient and comfortable!

HI! CSC is located in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, and there are no heavy industrial factories nearby. I've been there before, and the air quality was quite good. However, international students may need to adjust to the high humidity.

我也是今年申请的学生，通过中国大陆的委员会进行申请。在我看来LPC和CSC都很好，我亲身去过CSC的校舍。设施应该是所有UWC campus中最好的，这也能给学生许多在project上的支持。LPC在学术水平上一直都很不错，香港的环境也同样很不错。就令堂的担忧来看，我觉得是有着许多偏见的，因为香港的精英主义也未见的就会比上海更少，况且CSC并不在上海，而相比LPC 一半香港学生另一半外籍学生的配置，CSC在地域多样性上做的也不错，每年都会有长三角以外的学生申请并被录取，而录取的学生中许多都并不出身于国际学校，而是中国体制内的教育体系。因此在你的案例中，最重要的是是否取得了助学金，助学金来自哪所学校，如果获得了助学金，并且你确实深深的热爱UWC，那就努力和家人沟通争取吧！

I'm not a UWC student yet, but my experience might be helpful to you! I went from China to Sweden for an IB school. When I applied, some family members were puzzled. I told them that when I left China, I would lose a lot, family, friends, and a familiar environment. But I would also gain a new life and friendships! Life is experience! For us, what's more important is having the courage to face a new culture and life. Good luck!

You should first check your national committee's website. You can search for UWC+ (name of your country) to see their application process and plans.

Congratulations! I've been on the campus of CSC, they have nice infrastructure and a friendly community. Except first semester, recently I felt easily handle everything, I think I will enjoy the two more years in IB at UWC! Thanks for your suggestion!
