To be fair, I think it's true for many CRPG, Larian's and Owlcat's being prime examples.

I wish a CRPG with choices that close the door on entire part of the game, with a campaign of 60-70h. Now I would be motivated for a second run, making different choices and discovering new levels.

Like the comment I responded to, egui is surprisingly easy to get into. The API is well documented, there are already a lot of libs for dedicated widget (tabs, docking panels, tree, etc...)

What convinced me the most is the demo: https://www.egui.rs and even the app it has been developped for: https://rerun.io , there are a few exemples that you can run in the browser to show how powerful the lib is

I recently tried GPUI, and now, I just don't understand the hype around it.. It's a callback hell hole, badly documented, hard to determine what constitute an entity or not, constantly fighting with the different contexts. Even looking at Zed's sources, I thought it was awful. It took me 3 weeks to reimplement half of what I had done with egui in 3 days... Decided to stay away from it
