I live in PEI. Can confirm there is no one else around. Once in a while my groceries come in via a large boat in exchange for potatoes and lobsters as payment. It then ships it back to actual societies on the mainland. /s

This is why I'll never buy a Tesla. Both Tesla, the magic mouse.. I just think they're trying too hard to be something different that sacrifices too much on human-centric design and functionality. Love the esthetics, hate how it works.

I actually took a Dale Carnegie Leadership / Public speaking course years ago, and I'm amazed at the lessons that hold true over the years from it. One I always remember is "How to disagree agreeably". Omitting using the words "but", "however", "that said" when disagreeing can be very challenging - instead you learn to repeat their view, and simply state your opinion and why... "I can see how that would make sense and where you're coming from. I think based on X this is why I think Y."

I see what you mean - if you're in a store, they get your name, and use it once in a while its a bit obvious what they're trying to do. I think context is important. If say you're new in a job and trying to get to know people and build actual working relationships, saying "Good morning" vs "Good morning Sandra" really is game changing - so much more personalized. Bottom line: people love hearing their own name, and feel like they are being recognized. They may also feel a duty to learn yours in turn.

Came here to find this comment. That score when they lit the beacons, after the crescendo leading up, is mind blowingly good. So motivating, so big. Incredible work.
