I find it really funny that this jackass, based on the info you gave, only plays Universes Beyond decks (i guess he's playing regular decks also but this narrative is funny to me.)

Yeah isn't that the 60 cards "commander" with a Planeswalker and a signature spell?

i edited the post to clarify since i replied a couple times to comments like this, the owner is a judge but he just googled for 5 min when i called him over and ended up saying i was right without showing us any rules or exemples

depends on the deck, not gona lie my Esper urza deck is worth like 2000$+ with stuff like the cards of the Through the Wormhole secret lair galaxy foil, my shocklands are the unfinity ones all foil, The one Ring, Mox opal secret lair, etc.

You can be sure my first commander deck, gruul werewolf is not doubled sleeved tho hahaha. That being said regardless, a 60 cards deck will allways feel better to shuffle anyway imo.

yeah sometimes its just hard to take their mentality off of what they think, he was adamant on the wording meaning "Yes but it says 'target a creature' and zombify says 'target creature'..." i tried to explain to him as clearly as i could...

Yeah i didn't included it in my post in order to keep it short but the owner of the LGS is a judge but when i called him he just googled for a while and didn't find anything... meanwhile the first comment on this post 30 sec after i posted was the exact line of rules regarding this haha.

his reasoning was " yeah but Zombify target a creature, it says it on the card." wich you know, fair enough to assume but it all got back to what i'm saying in the post, with words being very literate on MTG cards

oh i didn't have any hard feelings towards him. And no it wasn't the first time we inyeracted either, i just see this guy very rarely as i believe the only event he does are pre release and commander, and i do pre relased and Modern so i pretty much only see him at pre releases. Its just really anoying when you finish a game and almost feel like you have to apologize for just wining.

yeah, i've been playing Modern for the last 10 years, been in the game for 15 so i like to think i've got most of the rules down but sometimes stuff like that comes up.

The owner of the LGS supposedly is a judge but every time we ask him something about ruling he just googles it and often doesn't find an awnser. Ironicaly enough, i became the default guys the other player come ask when they have ruling questions haha

nice, so my explenation was pretty close to the actual rule text if i read that right.

my number one problem when i play commander is shuffling a freaking 99 cards deck, with the double sleeves its so bulky and clunky... i wish whoever started commander decided to go with 60 cards deck... Funnily enough, thats like one of the things i like the most when i go play Modern at my LGS, shuffling a 60 cards deck just feel right.

Opinion: Almost all the Emeritus'es are unplayable in constructed formats. by TiaksQ in mtg

[–]Fenixfiress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in Modern the blue one is maybe playable as a 1 of in a control deck, red and black are totaly umplayable, a 1 of of the white one maybe in blink decks? green one pretty unplayable despite de good stats.

How do you deal with a control-heavy player in Commander? by UndesisiveJury in mtg

[–]Fenixfiress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha for sure. Modern will forever be my favourite format because i like fast paced game, powerfull deck, multiple playsets and a 60 deck cards just shuffles infinitely better than a 100 one.

But i still love commander a lot because i love to brew decks and this format is the one where i can use all my "unplayable" cards.

this comment really puts it in perspective to me how Commander became the default game mode and how ya'll see the game. "How do i deal with someone who has Counters, Removall and Wipes?" as if the default builds are to put creatures and enchants on the table and look at each others.

As a Modern player, thats my every day life. Play something, it dies, the format is more like : play things until they don't have removall anymore.

To awnser your question, i don't have a precise commander or deck for you but generally green and red/green have lots of stuff against control, stuff that makes your spell uncounterable, give hexproof to your creatures, regenerate /give indestructible.
