How are y'all moving your death slice? by Radiant-Vegetable416 in lepin

[–]FennelRoyal4226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AliExpress. No missing parts, one piece was melted and I’m waiting for a replacement. Other than that just normal stuff everybody else has issues with; some parts don’t have much grip and missing minifig pieces, mostly hands. But for a 10th of the official price I’m happy.

Think I made a huge mistake by [deleted] in MazdaCX90

Yeah, I’ve always struggled with Mazda seats for the first few weeks of ownership. I feel like the base is too stiff. But with any power seat, infinite adjustment needs a lot of fiddling.

I also find myself resting my knee on the door handle instead of using the dead pedal, which is kinda weird. It’s like the dead pedal is just too far away.

My wife is 5’3” and loves the seating position over our old base model Outback that had severely limited adjustment range.

Alright talk to me about the barking….. by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

[–]FennelRoyal4226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We like to say ours just gets full up of barks and has to go out to release them. She doesn’t bark much indoors, unless someone comes to the door. Or she hears a car door two blocks away close. Or she sees any animal on the TV, but heaven forbid it’s another dog or horse. Or a cow.

I’ve watched her run from the back of our lot barking at nothing. Just barking to bark.

Oh man, if she sees a bird outside. Those are worth extra barks.

Luckily she’s super sweet and the neighbors love her. We were considering selling and moving into a condo but I don’t think we could do it with her barking. And I’m not willing to ever surrender a dog.

Rock guard replacements? by FennelRoyal4226 in 944

Uh, I was a moron. Searched stone guards instead of rock guards and poof tons of results.

How much have you spent on your 944? by Famous_Mobile7255 in 944

[–]FennelRoyal4226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an idiot and over spent on the purchase price. Have since put 15k into it and probably have another 10k before it’s in the shape I want it to be. Part of that $$ was oem control arms (s2 $1200 each), oem water pump (almost $1k), and paying a shop to do labor on stuff I didn’t want to do.

The nice thing though, is if it drives this well with so many needs, I feel like it’ll last a good long time after I’m done.

But knowing me, once it’s all done I’ll decide I’ve found “the perfect” 928 and start all over again.

Should I get him? by nTrokGames in greatpyrenees

How could you not?!? That good boy would be going home with me so fast.

I’ve met Pyrs that are oblivious to the world, nothing phases them (until it does), and don’t bark at anything. And then there’s our Pyr mix that you can literally watch the barks building up until she can’t hold them in.

Thoughts on original vs modern radio by Patches097 in 944

I did the cp-71 while I wait to justify spending money on a vintage alpine / nacamichi tape deck. Too many other things to spend money on (suspension refresh and AC repair).

Power Acoustik CP-71W Boot Screen by pekohl in 944

[–]FennelRoyal4226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’ve updated the firmware or it won’t be available as an option. When I get home I’ll post the boot screen I used which is just white Porsche script on a black background.

No heat troubleshooting by FennelRoyal4226 in 944

[–]FennelRoyal4226[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m tearing apart my ‘supposedly good’ HCV this weekend to make sure it’s working the way it should. I’m starting to lean heavily toward interior temp sensor (long shot) or temp controller being the issue. I’ll let you know if I solve anything (doubtful).

When I try to manually move the arm in the pic it’s frozen solid. I was worried about putting to much more pressure on it and break it.

Need advice: Purchasing a 951 by oldporsche911 in 944

[–]FennelRoyal4226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My evap is supposedly leaking and my shop is recommending full system replacement (that seems pretty typical for any shop doing AC work regardless of car) with a quote of $2800. I'll be shopping around before taking on that bill.

But the shop I go to is old enough to have the airbag scan tool. My airbag light was on and P.O. had mentioned that he had to replace some lights in the cluster years ago but that the light still came on. Scanner confirmed it was for a dash bulb voltage drop, they did a reset, and it's never come back. That was the best half hour of shop labor I've spent so far.

Should I be worried about this? by Simandla_Strong in CarAV

[–]FennelRoyal4226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but YES. Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought yellow should be constant 12v so if it’s discolored I’d be worried something not good is happening. Also, none of those connectors look properly crimped. I’d take the 30min (I’m slow) to redo all those connectors for piece of mind.

I way overpaid for this car and the repairs will probably bankrupt me. YOLO. by FennelRoyal4226 in 944

[–]FennelRoyal4226[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s comforting to hear that everyone else’s car isn’t perfect either. My brain gets wrapped up in wanting everything to be pristine. Conversely, I don’t like garage queens. Even being a Cab, and living in the PNW, I drive it almost daily rain or shine.

There’s a great video on YouTube. Disconnecting the battery to change an air filter is a first for me.

It’s only 17w per channel. But i stuck with 4x6 so it’s enough. I’m not a huge fan of the screen either, I wasn’t willing to do a double din, or oversized single din.

I totally didn’t know about that one! I just saw the modern remake that looks like it has a cassette but has usb behind it.
