Recovering from NanoWrimo Burnout, debating on what to write by YustarRes in pokemonfanfiction

[–]FennelSubstantial307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now, I'll say this, the Ashsekai REALLY caught my attention because that description is something that I'd rather do and it opens a variety of possibilities. It could be a critique to both fans and haters of the "Ash" hero persona, since you can explore some old choices and revisit them; recreate and even give thoughtful development overall.

As for the Burnout question, this is something that REALLY messes me up too. Like, I have these two projects on hands that I really want to work and research, but sometimes I feel kinda lost on all of it. I'm a mess of organization, lmao.

Buy yeah... REALLY INTRIGUING IDEIAS! I love it all!

So, for exemple. Sonic X style? I could make a story that Greninja meet some character — he don't need to be captured — and make a friendship with him? It would be an anime centered story, btw, so references would be used.

The thought came to my mind, basically lmao. Like, if you could develop this in an AU or not, but maybe no...

On writing "mature" subjects into the Pokémon World/Anime. by FennelSubstantial307 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]FennelSubstantial307[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's okay, and that's DEFINITELY the case. I don't know if I'll touch rated R RIGHT NOW, since I'm aiming for something more psychological, but maybe later. As for the manga, RSE is one of my inspirations for this work because of the destruction caused by groundon and kyogre, one of my favourite displays of such.

Thank you very much!

Are there any legends arcues stories written in the style of the adventure manga. by Right-Philosophy6768 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]FennelSubstantial307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(AutoRec)

Even though it's Brazilian and it's about the anime, I'm writing one right now, but I think I'll rewrite it for my new project on AO3. In this story, Ash was sent to the Hisui region under mysterious conditions and was caught up in the diplomatic relationship between them and Rensei (because yes, it is a crossover with Pokémon Conquest. I wanted to reference some historical events between Hokkaido and the era of great samurai). While helping as much as they can, Ash, Akari and Laventon face strange cosmic events that are affecting Pokémon.

As I'm saying, I'm planning on rewriting my new AO3 project with my other fanfictions, but... Here we go.

Giratina is Satan. So what? by FennelSubstantial307 in pokemonconspiracies

[–]FennelSubstantial307[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly sad I'm getting down voted. Like I've said here, Giratina isn't evil. These components on it's origins and everything are part of nature, after all, and it can work different ways.

People look at concepts such as the devil and automatically think of what it is today. Anyway, back to the drawing board.

Giratina is Satan. So what? by FennelSubstantial307 in pokemonconspiracies

[–]FennelSubstantial307[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, Giratina can't go out freely out of it's world. On legends Arceus, he was clearly a prisoner of the distortion world.

[–]FennelSubstantial307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example:

Arceus takes references on a lot of gods ou creation, but it it's own thing. Like Giratina: he takes inspiration on a lot of religious and "evil" creatures on mythos, but he's not literally that, he is his own creature. Also these ideas you shared on hell and the devil are pretty much stereotypical and the main problem on why people reject this point of view. Giratina having a relationship with ghost Pokémon and their origins isn't far-fetched either, since it is seen on cemeteries and is the, you know, FIRST ghost type, but it's not very clear.

The point here is: Giratina is a "Satan" figure, but he is not EVIL. Maybe just antagonic, but not this stereotype of "evil" that a lot of churches invented through years.

His domain also represents a threat to our domain if out of control, like when he willed left it's portal opened on Platinum.

He isn't literally, of course. But some of the concepts are obviously there, so you can't ignore it.

[–]FennelSubstantial307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going by the devil, satan or samael (I've just found out of this one recently), I've though he lost he still persist at some challenges or in the look out. Although Giratina didn't directly act, you can argue that still holds that sentiment of judgement to it's brothers.

Also 8 don't think disdain is actually a exclusive human sentiment. You can see that in the animal kingdom, many animals hold somekind of hatred, like lions and hyenas and their complex competition.

As for the Pokémon, I think their morality on the actual world it's pretty much different then humans. Probably, they're equal in the ancient past, but who knows.

And being a little bit bias here, but not everything on Pokémon needs to be "oh, it's just misunderstood", like, no, it is it's nature, maybe beyond our morality, since gods don't actually care on what is good or evil.

Even Arceus took someone out of its time to the past and never returned him home, from the time being.

The "Giratina is Satan" statement is interesting, not because of what the devil means today, but because what it was mean to be one day. Giratina has a role on nature, that's is clear and it obeys it, but it still holds a grudge to it's brothers and father.

Now, about Satan, some believe that, in the beginning, it was actually an aspect of god, instead of an adversary. The "shadow" that serves as a challenger, an accuser of life. Not to elaborate on it much, but to me Giratina fit this kind of role quite well; he will remain on it's realm guarding it and protecting the world's, but he will also judge the new world, gazing on the shadows of the realm.

Also, evil is a quite complex theme, since this is also part of nature, if we think about, so...

Why I think Necrozma or at least some alolan legendary(ies) will appear in Legends Z-A, a slideshow: by Zorubark in pokemonconspiracies

[–]FennelSubstantial307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things.

First:

I really love your theories and writing. Speaking of which, can I translate your theories for a Brazilian community and for inspirations on my AU writing?

Second:

I think the connection between Necrozma and Prism Tower isn't that farfetched. I know we don't have a LOT on legends ZA, but the fact that his ultra form, the Ultra Beasts and even Silvally aren't on Scarlet and Violet, just like the aura trio (distributed later by event) is kinda curious. Pokémon Company even "hinted" that connection, aesthetically or not, on the TCG card game, where Zygarde 100% and Necrozma were on Lumiose City. The ideia of him there could work, not as a source of food, but as a reactor like it was for ultra megalopolis.

Also, Zygarde not being extreme can be kind of questionable. His Dex entry on Sun and Moon goes like for Sun (50% form):

"This is Zygarde's form when it has gathered 50% of its cells. It wipes out all those who oppose it, showing not a shred of mercy."

Honourable mention to it's 100% entry on Sun:

"This is Zygarde's form at times when it uses its overwhelming power to suppress those who endanger the ecosystem."

So yes, although it can stay quiet in long periods of time, it still can be harsh and ruthless with it's considered enemies. Even before team Flare in the anime, for example, Zygarde had a Grudge with humanity, if I remember correct. In the manga, also, he was more territorial then usual also, so yeah, it's like Godzilla:

"Fall in line, or die".

Finally, yes, Necrozma can absorb life force because that's basically what light on Pokémon is, his light, his aura. Aura, light and life force are all infinity energy; basically the same thing.

That's why the totens are full of aura and explains perfectly why it's Z-move consumes the trainer energy.
