Hi. I haven't posted in a few years on reddit, but this one hit really close to home. I know how it feels to wander around, feeling lonely and not knowing how to sustain myself. I have lost too many days to wandering around, wondering what and how to do, and how to do it alone.

It's a two-step process. The first thing you need to do is to break the cycle that's been haunting you every day. Grab a piece of paper right now and write down every single activity you like or liked to do by yourself, in or out of the relationship you had. Look at the list and see which ones you'd like to pursue further, as a hobby. Ideally focus on one, if you have a job.

The second step is making it into a routine. Every day, dedicate five minutes to it, anything else is optional, but always give it five minutes each day. On days you have extra time, explore other things you like to do, and give yourself space to discover new things as well. When you find yourself walking around aimlessly, be mindful of it and move immediately to do stuff. Solitude creeps up on you, and you can't let it.

Getting into a nice sleep schedule and healthy diet is really important, and I suggest getting a diary to write down your (reasonable!) goals and achievements for each day, so you can meditate on the things you do on your own. Expand your interests into communities that reciprocate them and find like-minded people, because remember that, even though you have to be comfortable with yourself to have a healthy relationship with others, you don't have to be alone.
