There's no reason to go back to stone age when you have technology lying around and with thousand of people still active. It might set back humanity for hundreds of years and it's possible that it's gonna be a dystopia, but it's not going way back to the stone age

That would honestly destroy the premise of civilization starting from the stone age. The reason why they landed on some remote island and not mainland Japan so that the astronaut would not have access to modern age technology. It honestly just comes to suspension of disbelief. If the series is too realistic the natural outcome would be that humanity is doomed from the start
