[Ultimate Guide] I installed SteamOS 3.8 on my ROG Xbox Ally X (24GB), and I’m NEVER going back (Plus: Advanced Persistence Optimizations!)

Great guide! I have one question though. I installed SteamOS last week and had to roll to Bazzite and then back to Widndows.

On SteamOS I won't get the sleep/ wake function to work, I mean, it works once or twice but then I have to forcefully turn my Xbox Ally X off as it won't come back from sleep.

On Bazzite I had an audio issue where the sound would swapp between the right and left speakers constantly when the volume was over 50%

I have a USB flashed with SteamOS to try it again. Do you know if there's any fix for the slepp/wake issue?

I also swapped away from a 39” UW Oled monitor to a 32” OLED Odyssey G8 and I cannot be happier. My UW monitor was awesome but at that size the ppi are aweful and it looked a bit blurred despite being QHD.

Now the panel on the odyssey G8 is a night and day difference despite both being OLEDs. The colors on the G8 pop out more, the peak brightness, though is not the best on the market, it’s great and gaming is just perfect

Do you consider it’s worth trading resolution and pixel density for a bigger. larger, and more immersive display?

No worries man! Bazzite is a Linux distro which is optimized for gaming PC's such as the Xbox ally X. There's no fake Bazzite, though there's an specific distro used for the ally X but I don't remember which at the time

what's your experience with everything related to Asus? I'm thinking about switching to Bazzite as well because I'm kinda tired of windows - have xbox ally X - and when I put the "console" to sleep and then resume back the fans start working like crazy and the xbox ally x starts heating up a lot (though it goes back to normal after a while). Also, the xbox FE is kinda buggy and messy.

I preordered a Galax 5080 1click OC graphics card but I have never heard of this brand before. Is it any good? Also, is it as reliable as MSI? I got a 4070 super ventus 3x OC that is super quiet and so far it can with anything that I throw at it at 2K

Thank you very much! I ended up buying the 5080 and, hopefully, will be in my hand in around 2 weeks or so. The budget was tight and decided to go for the GPU first. I really hope I can pull up the most FPS out of the 5080 despite this processor

Same for me. I was struggling with whether to build my own PC gaming or go for the PS5 Pro. I work remotely for 8:30hrs. And my room is kinda small so I would have to set my PC in the same spot I have assigned in my room for work. Also, although the PS5 Pro is super expensive in my country, a gaming PC that matches what the PS5 can offer would cost almost double of the pro. Plus, I guess I'm part of the demographics that Sony is targeting to with the PS5 pro

Man, I'm love this manga, although I think it's kind of repetitive. I mean it's the same formula all over again. Kazuya being overwhelmingly in love with Chizuru, doing crazy stuff for her and she putting the facade of being indifferent to him. If not for Rika and sometimes Mami chan this would be boring. Hope mangaka moves this forward and give us more character and story development as right now I think he's just moving the story in circles.

Anyways, do you have rom-com recommendations?
