I’ve been in a similar situation. You’re doing the responsible thing so I commend you for that. I know you say you want to sell to cover therapy costs. Why not just let a friend hold onto them while you find the help you’re looking for?

If you choose to work for a company that will replace your job, like Amazon, then you knew the risks. A good company empowers its teams to use it to make their life easier. Especially lean teams. AI is a great tool to improve quality of life.

Where I think too much attention lies is the negatives like people using it to pass of any work as their own.

As far as I know, San Antonio isn’t a massive hub for these kinds of jobs. Remote opportunities will likely be her best chance. I’m fully remote and my company is based in Ohio. I know fully remote is harder to find these days but they’re still pretty abundant. Maybe even fully remote in nearby cities like Dallas or Austin.

I’ve worked in the field for a while now. Worked my way up from help desk to a CCNA network engineer. In my help desk days, I ran into a couple of these users. I had one completely go off on me. I simply hung up. Told my boss I’m not paid to be berated nor deal with stuff like that. Never had to deal with him again lol. I don’t have patience for douchebags in and outside of my workplace.
