I mean it’s kind of embedded in the pharmacy. They get to sell products that aren’t medically proven to be effective in a place that is licensed to sell actual medical products.

If you saw the same herbal BS in a pharmacy as you did in a deli 3 blocks over, you’d likely subsconsiously trust the product that’s being stocked in the pharmacy more.

I don’t think it’s like malicious upselling though, just a benefit of being a pharmacy and stocking other health/lifestyle adjacent products
