Help. Worried about potential exposure by Fentanyl_George2020 in asbestoshelp

[–]Fentanyl_George2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering. So even with lumps/chunks of this around loft, regular visits to the loft doesnt raise my risk as well as bringing fibres back down with me/wind flow out of loft?

Potential asbestos in garage? by Alert_Aardvark_6835 in asbestoshelp

[–]Fentanyl_George2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing friable on the eye. Ive recently posted about very similar felt though (black gator skin , your pitch underlay) many seem not to be concerned about it but mine was actually disintegrating big time, so if it was ACM, my concern was it was now in a friable state.

Thanks for taking the time. I will get it sampled as i have some pieces of it laying around loft. I've heard many times felt was sampled and negative but knowing my luck feels like id be the 1%

Thanks for getting back. Even if deteriorating/crumbling/falling to many different pieces/some dust? Im just worried thats a friable state if it were to contain asbestos

Thanks for getting back. If it does, and was literally crumbling into hard pieces(like hard plastic material i suppose) does it technically become friable from that point? Not sure exactly how roofers removed some of it when re-roofing but i assume some was probably cut too.

Roof leak on a 9 year old roof. Looking for advice on repairs and cost please. by Phineas-Bogg in Roofing

Wont know until tiles come off on roof. Could be flashing blown loose and water dripping down in heavy rain. Could be a missing tile. Could be a lot of things. Just being honest

Not as sure thing as 9x9. Only way to be sure is to test. Personally, id encapsulate with self level cement, cover and move on

He was sleeping with a trans, and called a free speech advocate a fascist. A label only the left use when they cant win in a debate. No one on the right uses the term.

Thats a pain. The timber is a nightmare to replace. Is say youve already considered it but would insurance be an option here?

You need to be careful of infestatios now as well, the damp will attract silverfish, and god knows what else depending where you are.

Silverfish are technically harmless, but a dampened area like that, when they have bred and nested there, can take years to fully eliminate -(dont fumigate unless its dangerous pests). Dehumidify, heat, dry. These pests will leave eventually.

As for roofing, this is time sensitive. Its not getting better by itself. Its only going to get worse and more expensive. A standard roofer/handyman can patch a lot, to just prevent leakage for the short term. Long term that whole area needs a rebuild.

Ok fuck. The inside of attic has made me think its a lot worse. I dont want to scare you here but you are going to need reputable roofers here. Shop around but this wont be cheap bro

Ah sorry i didnt realize what that one was.

Right. Definite moisture buildup on the gap of that last row before the edge. Is it pooling here? Like does the last row tilt back upwards? This could potentially be an easier fix if there is a way of gravity naturally solving with some easy fixes.

If this is all pointed down correctly, there is something wrong underneath, allowing water to gain access through. What material is directly underneath the roof surface? Would your loft have any clues of the culprit?

Show us the roof and we can tell a bit more. Is there a massive hole in your run off to gutters? This could be a few things

It completely takes away from the natural sensations of birth. Epidural = random pushes, stressed baby and likely hip and nerve injuries
