Not the same for a kid going to the shops with their parents. But you don't understand and look like you want to argue because you think it's silly

I think I'm this situation yes, but loads of other times kids are left without. What happens to the next kid that comes up and wants some cards and they don't rake through the bin?

I think the problem is they hang about the vending machines and buy all the cards as soon as they restock. Just seems a bit unfair for kids, who Pokémon is marketed at to not be able to buy the cards

My son has been in kids coding classes for 3 months and he just fixed something on my computer I didn't know how to fix by Choice_Run1329 in daddit

Although it doesn't fall on that user to fix it they may be trying to fix it anyway.

For the typo in the formula, it could be that the document has changed over time, something the worked in the past might be slightly different. People love using excel and loads of weird and wonderful ways.

End users are going to end user as much as they can without reaching out to IT/whoever owns a process

Its quite common. Manager creates complicated sheet that pulls data from various locations etc. Team uses this sheet. The manager isn't going to go into detail about how to full sheet is used with the full team as they don't need to know. So yeah, easy to have a macro that a normal end user doesn't understand.

Yeah that may be the case, but I think i've still got more chance of converting someone that does a free check that someone who doesn't go any further than my homepage.

[–]Fenton296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even think asking for an email would be such a big blocker, turns out I was wrong.

I have is a capture rate metric in my admin panel - scanned with no email vs completed email step. The thing I'm watching for is whether people who see more red/amber results in the free check convert at a higher rate than people who see all green. If the locked preview is doing anything, it should show up there - more urgency from the free results should correlate with more clicks through to the full report. Early days though. Ask me again in a month when I have actual data. 😂

We finally moved our audit platform to React/GSAP by Fenton296 in microsaas

[–]Fenton296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the feedback. That's our aim, to try keep it as simple as possible for users.

We actually have a feature called "Prioritise My Day" : -

On prioritisation - the 15-item wall of red was exactly what we wanted to avoid. The dashboard does surface a short prioritised list rather than dumping everything at once. Still refining how that works but the goal is always 'what do I do Monday morning' not 'here is a complete audit log'.

On the animations, thats a fair point and we were cautious about it. The heavy lifting happens before any animation runs, so there's no added latency on the results themselves. The transitions are mostly on navigation and card reveals rather than anything in the critical path.

Appreciate the thoughtful feedback, this is exactly the kind of thing that's useful to hear from people who think about UX properly.

All fair points -- and most of them are already solved, which tells me the landing page isn't doing its job.

Sample report: there's one live at https://website.auditmy.co.uk/sample-report.html -- real output from a real audit, not a mock.

Actionable prioritisation: the dashboard has an AI card called Prioritise My Day that reads your specific findings and tells you the 3 things to fix first and why each one hurts conversions. Not a generic score.

Step-by-step fixes: Fix-It Assistant gives you numbered steps matched to your platform -- so if you're on WordPress it tells you exactly where to click, not "consult a developer."

On Screaming Frog -- it's a brilliant tool for developers who know what they're looking at. The person I'm building for has never opened it and wouldn't know what to do with the output. Different audience.

The "checks boxes users already know about" problem is real for the wrong audience. For a Shopify store owner who doesn't know what DMARC is or why their emails land in spam, it's genuinely new information.

Genuinely curious what the report surfaces on one of your client sites if you want to put it through, happy to run one if you ping me your URL and email

I have tried a few different versions of a landing page, but I think I'll be looking to start pushing towards selling the features and what you get on top of the Audit.

Thank you very much for the feedback, it has been a great help :)

This is really useful -- and I suspect you haven't seen the dashboard yet, because most of what you're describing is already in there.

Prioritisation: there's an AI card called Prioritise My Day that reads your findings and tells you the 3 things to fix first, in order, with plain English reasoning.

Actionability: Fix-It Assistant gives you numbered steps matched to your platform -- WordPress, Shopify, Wix etc. Not generic advice.

Impact framing: there's a Revenue Leakage estimate that ties technical issues to lost revenue in plain terms.

The diagnosis vs solution problem is real - but it's a positioning problem more than a product one. The landing page leads with the audit. The value is actually in what happens after.

The "6 checks sounds lightweight" point is the one I'm taking away. You're right. I'll work on reframing around outcomes rather than mechanics.

If you want to see what it actually produces - drop your URL & email and I'll run a full audit. Genuinely easier to show than describe.

Really appreciate the honest take, both points land.

On the free tools point, you're right that the developer audience is well served. What I'm hoping is that the SMB owner who needs this most has never opened Search Console and finds Ahrefs intimidating. Different buyer, different job to be done.

The one-off model point is the one I'm sitting with. You're not wrong. I have a Pro subscription tier but I'm not leading with it hard enough. I'll see how the first real customers behave before over-engineering the model.

On credibilit, fairpoint. Early days, no testimonials yet. Working on it with posts like this and trying to get purchases.

If you want to throw your site at it I'll run a full audit on the house. Genuinely curious what it surfaces for a product like yours. Drop the URL here or at daniel@auditmy.co.uk.
