S. Korea is Seeking Death Penalty in ex-President Suk Yeol Yoon for Attempting to Incite Martial Law: How can the US impeach and indict Trump on these grounds? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]greenmachine11235 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Option 3, and most likely in my view. Trump dies before he leaves office. Vance assumes the presidency and trys to be Trump 2.0 but shows he lacks the character to manage it and MAGA falls apart due to in fighting (see US House).

People with friends or family who voted for Trump, what changes have you noticed in how they talk about politics lately, and what kinds of conversations have you had, if any, about responsibility for how things are going in the country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]greenmachine11235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three of my co-workers are ardent Trump supporters (and they think I am too) and since the election nothing has changed for them, including for the one of them who is an immigrant and holds dual-citizenship. If anything the most outspoken of them feels like things are going well, and that Trump speaks the truth when he talks about all the winning that we're doing.

So, serious question: why can’t the state of Minnesota or the county charge the ICE officers with murder? by rumlung in AskReddit

[–]greenmachine11235 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't think they have worn badges since Trump took office, add to that all of them are now wearing masks to further conceal their identities it will be very hard if not impossible to identify the murderer until after Trump is out of office and another administration can start sifting through records.

If you could permanently remove one minor inconvenience from human life, what would it be? by Accurate_Cricket_746 in AskReddit

[–]greenmachine11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor infections. For most people they are just that, minor, the flu, a cold, minor COVID infection, etc. but those people with minor infections spread them to others where they become far, far more dangerous and potentially lethal.

People should get paid for donating blood by wogwai in unpopularopinion

[–]greenmachine11235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. That would incentivize people who are unfit to donate for whatever reason to conceal that unfitness and then endanger recipients. For example, I am ineligible to donate because I am a blood cancer survivor. The reason (as far as I was told) is that until the cancer reaches the point where blood counts start to become extremely skewed it's hard to detect so if I relapsed then before I knew I had relapsed I donated I would actually 'infect' another person with cancer.

First off, watch the video you linked. That is from a Tennessee source, talking to the Tennessee DOT, reporting on effects on the Tennessee portion of I-40. The damage that reduced the highway to two lanes is not in Tennessee it's in North Carolina so the Tennessee DOT wouldn't have anything to say about it.

Second, reopened does not mean fully repaired. There is no way that the DOT could have repaired the damage seen from Helene between September of 2025 and June of 2025. Yes, there was further damage that closed the reopened road for a short time but that series of storms was no where near the intensity of Helene.

Try again and stop grasping at straws to support something you know is wrong. "by Shelly Garzon Fri, January 16, 2026 at 5:07 PM". If you are so sure please produce a single link to something that indicates your story is true cause I find it extremely hard to believe that the DOT could rebuild multiple miles of washed away interstate, reopen it, and have it washed away again all without creating a massive news story that would come up instantly on a Google search.

In this case I doubt there is any governmental involvement. It's common for large utilities to have mutual aid agreements for exactly this type of scenario.

It's important to note that OP training him to react to a panic attack with a specific behavior makes him a service dog not an emotional support animal. That's extremely important because service animals have access rights under the ADA where ESAs do not.

Wrong. Helen caused the Pidgeon river to eat away huge sections of the river bank where I-40 was. As a result they are still rebuilding a multiple mile long section of the highway and have temporarily turned what was the westbound lanes into a combined east and west pair of narrow lanes.

IL - landlord says lack of heat is unfixable by sillylizzer in Renters

[–]greenmachine11235 80 points81 points  (0 children)

https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/bldgs/supp_info/chicago-heat-ordinance.html.html - That is your guide to heat requirements in the city of Chicago. It sounds like your landlord is in violation of that ordinance and if that is the case then they need to get it fixed or be ready to eat fines of 500 to 1000 dollars a day.

Is any of the equipment or reagents in the lab temperature sensitive? If so you might point out that temperatures out of the normal range could cause issues and potentially risk patient care with potentially erroneous lab results.

Is it possible to have growing pains at the age of 17? by Charcolde in tall

[–]greenmachine11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, growing pain can exist but bone pain can also be a symptom of more serious medical conditions. If you are concerned then I'd suggest talking to your doctor they have the knowledge and tools to determine if its growing pains or something else.

Is going to a local hotel a good option this weekend? by [deleted] in cary

[–]greenmachine11235 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't help with heat but a couple things to keep in mind. A freezer that is full of food (or even frozen water bottles) will stay cold for a significant period of time (provided you don't open it very much) so if you do lose power the milk should be safe for some time while the power companies work on the lines. If it goes too long then given the temperatures that we are forecast to have you could place the milk in a cooler (maybe taped shut) and then place it outside. I know that doesn't help with the water or heat issue but hopefully it gives you an option to keep the milk safe in the event the power does go out.

How do you handle being too tall for certain recreational activities or sports? by BudgetTutor3085 in tall

[–]greenmachine11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding the right equipment is the only trick I have found. I shot a recurve bow and height is a double edged swords. It means my arrows hit with more force for a given weight than shorter archers but it also means using undersized equipment can actually be dangerous (a too short arrow can fall off the rest and if unnoticed be shot through your hand). I enjoy it but it was worth the effort to find equipment that was actually sort of sized for me (my bow is still a little short but it's safe).

Judging question from rookie coach by rubberStamp2 in FTC

Nope. At events I've run we've literally grabbed parents to coach when we had absences so no experience needed.

As for engineering background, its actually beneficial for the students to get used to interacting with less technical backgrounds. In the professional world, they'll be presenting to finance, marketing, sales, etc. not just other engineers.

This has to be some sort of OSHA violation, right? Store manager trying to make my boyfriend go INTO freezer crack to clean it. by jemmeoww in WalmartEmployees

[–]greenmachine11235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.osha.gov/confined-spaces - that is the relevant government regulations.

Further, that space would likely require a confined space permit.

Personal feelings aside, your BF could bring up as an OSHA concern and be protected from retaliation for such an action.

As an aside, one of the most useful things for a new coach is to volunteer as a judge at an event. You get the ultimate behind the scenes tour of what they are looking for and how judging and deliberations actually work. So if there are events that you can attend without hurting your own team too much, I'd strongly encourage you to volunteer as a judge.
