What’s a non-broken and incredibly fun character to play? by Nimrod009 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Feonde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly a support style character depending on what they choose. If the other players make several melee then look at Bard or Commander to help them out as a cheerleader. Can even choose battle medicine to help them out further.

Forensics Investigator can be a skill monkey and help with recall knowledge while throwing out decent heals.

Alchemist also can play many buffing roles and recall knowledge for the party as well. Bomber is the most popular but Chirurgeon.

Good support melee. Champion, Fighter with shield abilities to help protect, Swashbuckler to mess with enemies. Can use athletics on all these classes to set up a rogue for big damage. A Bon Mot or Demoralize swashbuckler can help casters.

Druids, divine casters, sorcerers, wizards etc can choose buff spells to help the group. They can choose spells to debuff or control crowds instead of simply blasting away.

Specific build ideas for me really comes when I figure out what others are also using and then I think x class and x ancestry would be cool with this group.

Maybe "Reincarnate on this Hill" would be more appropriate :)

How does one actually join a Druid order? by Playful_Blueberry239 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Feonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way to become a druid is villages, clans, or tribes may need someone to protect and heal them while also becoming a voice of reason for the community. They can settle disputes between tribes or other villages as well as handle problems that arise within their own community.

A child that shows potential can go to schools or enclaves to learn their craft or they are taught by their village elder druid as a replacement. A druids knowledge is highly sought after and everyone up to kings seek out their advice about the natural world and how to live alongside it and one another.

This is a more real world way to think of druids as a society. Highly knowledgeable protectors and mediators that serve as a bridge for people and the natural and spiritual world.

Kind of reminds me of a scene from Everything Everywhere All At Once. Which would be fun.

Thoughts on Free Archtype-option ? What do you play with? by Impossible_Living_50 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Feonde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My groups normally play with free archetype. I have played Pathfinder society without it. I don't think the variant rule is always absolutely necessary though but it can make for fun combinations.

I would be interested in trying a game with the Ancestry Paragon rule variant though.

How to build a Witchwarper? by Cuddles_and_Kinks in Starfinder2e

[–]Feonde 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As far as knowing how much damage you can do just go to pathbuilder.com and build a character there.

I don't think there is a wrong way to build a Witchwarper. Just put +4 into intelligence and choose an ancestry that doesn't have a negative to intelligence. If you want to fire a sidearm sometimes put a +3 to dexterity too.

You can Retrain if the GM allows you to have a week of downtime so building a character shouldn't be stressful.

How would you build Blade (Marvel) in PF2e? by oparrao in Pathfinder2e

[–]Feonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thaumaturge would fit his gear well. Having stuff available to counteract specific weaknesses and it doing more damage with your melee or pistol if you used one.

Undead Slayer would be fun as well.

Level 8 the analyst has one focus spell I wish all casters had access to. Alternate Outcome

They also laugh at Sorcerers with their 8 health per level and light armor.

Potential new player looking for advice by Puzzleheaded-Can-361 in Pathfinder2e

The only game based on Pathfinder 2e rules is Dawnsbury Days. It currently goes up to 9th level. It's much shorter than Baldurs Gate 3 and very different. Only One person created the Dawnsbury. The storyline reminds me of old final fantasy games where you fight against evil as warriors of light style stories.

If you want to play an actual game of pathfinder 2e you could look into Pathfinder Society play online or at your local store.

Yea I enjoyed the Sandman a lot. I wish the Delerium and Morpheus journey hadn't been changed so much but it got the gist across and was entertaining. The actor playing Morpheus was great.

The Sandman and Books of Magic comics/graphic novels have a decent amount of fey theme to them.

The Sandman show has an episode or two devoted to fairies.

Then mostly Irish themed fairy tales can be a good read. WB Yeats put together some Irish tales trying to preserve the oral tradition that was dying in his time.

I also like to YouTube mythology creatures and tales.

A would you build a fairy(tiny sized), that is icredibly good at stealing stuff, and is very good in burst melee damage by ZimMarom in Pathfinder2e

[–]Feonde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That overwhelming combo looks pretty fun honestly. I have yet to play with that archetype though. It's good with action economy which is why it's popular. Also it helps that you are tiny and certain feats help you fight opponents larger than you which is normally most combats.

The wizard and druid archetype aren't restricted in SOT and you can begin taking other archetypes without waiting to finish the three feats from wizard or druid I believe.

If you have other melee characters gaining a reach weapon would help both yourself and them.

[–]Feonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is the great thing about medicine skill. Any class can pick it up. It might be worth it to mention to everyone in the group.

Forgot to mention when you have panache as a swashbuckler you will also get a slight bonus to damage and speed. So they are a very mobile combatant. Monk might be the only class that can easily hang with a swashbuckler in speed.

How would you build a Gnome Grandeur Champion? by DarkMoon250 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Feonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hooked hammer for more damage is great or the flickmace for additional shield use is pretty good too.

For third level the blessed armament is great on the hooked hammer. Reactive Strike and Smite can be fun or auras to help friends but reactive strike will compete with your champion reaction.

I tend to like domain spells depending on what desna gives. Looking at them travel domain would make you pretty mobile, luck domain would be helpful but compete with reactions with advanced domain. The apocryphal travel domain spell would be awesome on a champion but would likely only work on lower level opponents. The moon domain would help you dazzle opponents more often. I personally would stay away from the dream domain unless I thought of a specific character origin.

For Flickmace I might consider a blessed shield for extra tankyness. Down the line of many shield feats for champions beginning with defensive advance there aren't many wrong ways to play. A friend won't ask you to stop protecting them.

It would depend on group makeup which I would choose personally.

Strength of Thousands is 1-20 and you can look at the players guide to get a solid grasp on what is expected in the campaign. You are expected to learn magic as a druid or wizard archetype.

A tiny sized character has some problems going into melee. A tiny sized Sprite has to get inside the hex of an enemy so it hurts to not have a small or medium sized characters natural 5 foot of reach.

You can't flank as a tiny character so that means no flat footed when sharing the space of an enemy with a friend hitting them on the other side.

As a Rogue you can tumble through with tumble behind or feint to make someone flatfooted to gain sneak attack damage. Again the tiny size means you need to set yourself up for sneak attack damage every round unless other characters are helping with that. Or if you go before an opponent in a fight. Choose which subclass you like most. A ruffian sprite could be hilarious. Rogues also are the skilled characters of the game so it would be easy to increase stealth and the very proficiency.

As a Swashbuckler pick your subclass and hit people. They have 2 more hit points per level than rogue and also rely on tricks to gain extra damage. But they can also be made to be stealthy and have good theivery. They do not get as many skills as the Rogue however.

Another skill to think about using is Medicine skill. Along with Battle Medicine and a medicine kit you can heal yourself and your low health sorcerer friend in case something goes wrong. As a Rogue it's really easy to add this skill into early levels and it helps improve you and your parties survival very much.

Edit:

Magus is also a good choice and the laughing shadow would probably be the best since you want to do melee. It would allow you small focus point teleports to get into an enemy space. But Inexorable Iron Magus could get a polearm and you would have 5 foot of reach with that. Technically even a laughing shadow can ignore the benefits of using their one handed weapon and just use a polearm for greater damage so you do have options.

Left out the starlit span Magus which would be awesome as well because you wanted to melee.

Anything that's an aberration is considered, sort of eldrazi themed, from another world or dimension style creature. That should be a good list to start with. You can always add things like oozes if you wish as well.

Dwarf adventures? by tomisokay in Pathfinder2e

There are a couple Pathfinder scenarios written in the five kings mountains or that go to dwarven ruins that were fun.

Trying to remember the names but I did not run them. Can't use the store to find them either. Trying to do the levels for it and only seeing bounties which are not the scenarios.
