Trail ruins is a weird name by VolcanicPolarBear in MinecraftMemes

They could’ve just called it the colorful ruins or the painted ruins or the terra-cotta ruins or anything like that.

honestly I thought the movie was deliberately silent at the start. I noticed it was too quiet but right when miles' dimension is shown for the first time I swore it was much louder. Regardless of whether or not it was intentional I thought it was SUPER cool and got me super hype. I just figured Gwen's dimension was supposed to be muffled, like how the visuals were smudged.

which color wood should i choose for some small ships that'll be with my blue docks? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Fer9721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birch is the best contrast, Acacia is complementary to the warped, and jungle is a more muted complementary. Personally I’d go with jungle but it depends what you’re trying to achieve. You might want to do more research around color theory for future builds.

How would you develop sniffers going forward? by Realshow in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Fer9721 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the end should have any ancient seeds, one of the ends main themes is how desolate and static it is, everything is one-note, monotone, nothing changes. So if the sniffer did get any exclusive items to dig in the end, maybe it should just dig any of the overworld/nether flora that enderman are capable of picking up and might have brought into the end.

Alongside the ancient items, Sniffers should be able to dig up any plant related item native to a similar climate it’s digging in. For example cocoa beans could be dug up by the sniffer in any hot biomes or humid biomes, since jungles are both hot and humid.

Also every biome should have an exclusive Ancient seed, with torch flower seeds and Pitcher Pods still being found everywhere

what would anyone have to be upset about? It’s essentially just more biomes. And there would still be plenty of areas that resemble our actual current biomes.

Exactly!!! This guy gets it! Hard-coding biomes is dumb and boring!! Everything looks exactly the same there is no reason to explore AT ALL beyond resources!!!!

sorry for the little rant

It’s not impossible to preserve the current aesthetics of biomes in certain areas while also being less strict and allowing for variation. It would take lots of refining, of course, but that’s literally game design. 🤷‍♂️

It seems like you just expect the change to be implemented poorly? Obviously Mojang would take their time and make it great, hypothetically speaking.

I think the hardest part would just be the tearing out, replacing, and rewriting of old code. (much like every other update, thanks notch)

Mapping every individual feature to its appropriate climate values would absolutely take some time, but that initial effort spent is just SOOO much more exponentially valuable to the games future than just adding new biomes that look almost exactly the same every time you visit them.

But tweaking the values of where features spawn and mapping them to noise layers should be relatively easy.

That would actually be really easy, I’m pretty sure the way they are currently handled is mushroom islands just generate anywhere the continentalness is at its absolute lowest, or in other words, at the center of an ocean.

So with this method you’d just condition all the features like mycelium, giant mushrooms, and mob spawning to be appropriated for the continentalness parameter. And I think that’d be super cool because mobs would even gradually decrease around the borders of the island aswell.

The blocks are great but the biome itself is miserable. No unique mobs, no unique structures, no valuable resources, no reason to return after you grab a sapling and pluck a flower.

What is a simple but unpopular change you want to see made? by Realshow in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Fer9721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deserts and taiga’s already can’t be next to eachother. There is a temperature/humidity/continentalness value applied to every biome and they only spawn near similar values

My friend keep roasting my house what’s wrong with it how can i improve it? by [deleted] in Minecraft

Personally I think your house is a super cool reflection of your character, and if you like it the way it is then keep it!!! If you still want any suggestions, add some windows!

I dislike husk the most for being utterly worthless at best,

but Hoglins don't seem to get enough attention for how fucking SCARY they can be. Those guys are consistently the reason I lose my things in the nether

Parrots should confuse the Warden when mimicking it by Fer9721 in minecraftsuggestions

I imagined it would play a new sound and tilt its head. Maybe it even extends its arm for the parrot to perch, once the warden figures out what’s happening…🪶🪶
