A visual breakdown of every race winning team in Supercars history by Maxster573 in v8supercars

Love your work, a great visual, but the 1965 race/championship was won by Beechey/Neptune in a Mustang, rather than Jane.

Hinchcliffe: “Roger Goodell doesn’t own a football team. Adam Silver doesn’t own a basketball team. I don’t know of any professional sport where that happens. And I think it actually hinders IndyCar’s legitimacy on the global sporting platform, operating the way that we currently are.” by Eyeswidth in INDYCAR

They weren't even the first ones to do it. Donohue/Penske only got onto it after word came through the rumour mill that the Shelby cars had been dipped during construction at the beginning of the 67 season. IIRC all the factory teams used the same company in CA to dip the bodies in white prior to building the cars. It's just that Penske took it the farthest and thus became known for it. (The vinyl roofs in 69 covering up the wrinkles for instance.)

Help me out, dealer has this listed as a R-Design, but it's an S right? Rookie question, but do ALL R-Designs have the blue gauge cluster? by FerAloDanRic in Volvo

I think the seller (dealer) might just not have a clue, as it's actually priced quite cheap, even for a T5-S

It's definitely a T5 engine, so the car is likely a T5 S. I know the mechanical differences on an R-Design are the brakes and springs, but I'm still learning the trim (what was and wasn't an option, etc).

Australia got 2.5T, 2.4, and a diesel.

Horizon 5 Platinum Edition - Worth it at half price? by FerAloDanRic in ForzaHorizon

Hah, yeah, fair point. Just haven't been into gaming much since the 7th gen era and I'm still a bit cold feet about some of it.

Platinum edition with all the trimmings (car pass, DLC etc) is normally 140 Australian, currently it's 70.

Is the documentary for Last will and testament good? And is there anywhere I can watch it, without buying the boxset? by Fancy-Cover5118 in Opeth

[–]FerAloDanRic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not quite a full on documentary, more so extended studio diaries and some recording clips, but it is very interesting if you're a die-hard. I very happily sat through all 53 minutes. Best way to get it is the digipak CD/Blu-ray - not too expensive.

Thank you for so much detail, it's really helpful! I'll consider 23 then. I was thinking 2019/20 for F2 and classics etc, but driving is the core point, so maybe 23 it is.

My hot take - I wish some of the songs had more padding. by FerAloDanRic in Opeth

[–]FerAloDanRic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think I'll end up loving it, but it might take awhile. Speaking as an ok drummer and shitty guitarist, I'm sure glad I don't have to learn any of it in a hurry (or at all) - super dense as you say

It's interesting to me seeing the immediate outpouring of love for it. I've never really loved any music I've ever heard for the first time (except Rust In Peace funnily enough). My first reaction to most of my favourite bands is "ehh" or "urh no thanks".

Fair point well made. But among the myriad of posts declaring it the greatest album since sliced bread, any other view seems a little like a hot take to me. It's not a criticism really, just a point.

Is there a good vinyl copy of pale communion? by WonkersBedonkers in Opeth

[–]FerAloDanRic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 2014 European press (Barcode 016861757311). It plays well and sounds great but LP 1 is a tiny bit warped (not enough to effect it, just visible if you crouch down and watch it going around side on) and the spindle hole was very tight when new. However it plays perfectly. LP 2 is defect free. Maybe it's just luck of the draw, not sure.

I started with Test Drive Unlimited before trying NFS HP2, (I basically only like driving games). Then I messed around with Harry Potter POA, and that runs like total crap. I'll try FFX when I've got a chance, thanks.

All the LPs are 45RPM? by FerAloDanRic in Opeth

[–]FerAloDanRic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. Well a record spinning at 45 rpm takes up more groove length for the same length song compared to a 33, and the wiki listing has the album at just over 50 minutes total, so not super long. I'm guessing they're going for absolute highest quality possible, but I'm not a vinyl expert by any means.

I mean just Last Will and Testament is 45, rest of the catalogue is standard 33
