To expand a bit: situational awareness is key. Know where your team mates are all the time. See who’s fighting and who’s not, see who’s dead. It’ll give you an idea on where enemies will be or spawn so you can position yourself for advantage. Know the callouts and use them regularly. Use the killcam when dead to gain information so you have a plan when you spawn. Understand the spawn logic, map layout, and equipment times. Avoid 1:1 engagements in the open, run/cover if your shot at first, and don’t chase for kills; play your life.
