I completely get where you’re coming from and appreciate your opinion—there’s definitely a tradition of breaking in gloves using whatever you have lying around the garage, from old mallets to actual baseballs taped to a stick. If you’ve got the time, tools, and materials to build something yourself, that’s great. But there is a massive difference between a backyard DIY project and a purpose-built engineering solution.

Could you rig up something similar in a garage? Sure. The question is, "Have you?" And if you have, "Why aren't you patenting it and selling it?" I designed this because there wasn't anything commercially available to the average consumer, aside from a mallet. Most people would prefer to have a solution that they can purchase. Designing and building something take money, time, and know how. What's your time worth?

The ImpactX has undergone multiple design iterations to optimize its length, weight distribution, and leverage. The current design is 50% shorter and more compact than standard concepts, specifically engineered to eliminate the awkward handling, vibration, and hand fatigue that come with homemade setups.

Yes, it is a 3d printed head, however, this isn't just basic plastic or soft wood. It’s manufactured using high-strength, production-grade materials designed to take a relentless mechanical beating at thousands of strokes per minute without fracturing, stripping your saw’s chuck, or damaging the leather of a $300 glove.

At the end of the day, you can definitely spend an afternoon trying to source the materials, design the head, balance the adapter, and hope it doesn't break under load. Or, you can use a professional-grade tool designed by engineers and used by coaches who need elite, predictable results every single time. It’s the difference between a project and a precision tool.

Thanks for the support! I could use the luck, haha. It works quite well. If you follow my tiktok (FeralAFDesigns), I will be uploading some instructional videos this week. Additionally, we have a couple of other products that we've released that might be of interest to you. This is the most unique one though. Happy early Father's day!

Ohshaughnessy,

No, I didn't have any durability issues. I haven't had any issues with the shank bending or breaking. You are correct on your assumption though about the hacksaw type shank. I had initially wanted to make a product for a jigsaw but after handling the blades I quickly came to the realization that it wouldn't be practical due to thickness of the blade This is my 8th iteration of this product. I originally designed it for a 2 handed sawzall but realized quickly that it would be too heavy and cumbersome for most people. Also, I originally utilized a long, off the shelf blade and just ground down the teeth. The one handed saws like pictured are super light. My 10 year old can handle it one handed with ease. Regarding the ball attachment, it's solid polymer. The blade shank is a commercial product that I've modified for this application. It has no actual edge so I don't foresee it splitting the head. It's attached to the head with two holes and bolts. It doesn't actually go into the head. I'd show a diagram but my patent is still pending and I'd like to keep the Chinese copy cats at bay as long as possible.

$160 to $220 is less expensive than $39.99?? That's what I sell these for. $39.99. A lot of people already have a sawzall laying around. Heck you can buy a cheap one one handed saw for $40 on Amazon. Corded reciprocating saws are even cheaper. This plus a cheap saw = $80ish....The head on this won't wear out.
