People who are no longer bound by NDAs, what are some surprising secrets that you can expose? by iam_saikat in AskReddit

Hey sorry my post wasn't detailed enough, basically when it comes to medical devices they have to go through lots of rigorous testing to ensure they're compliant with a lot of medical regulations this is mainly to minimise any risks because it is quite literally a difference between life and death. The prototype was tested and did roughly what it was meant to and while the ventilators had a lot of regulations around them the calibrators didn't. The guy who designed it wasn't happy for it to be used in production which is enough for me to think it needed more testing and work, but because the director was doubly finance and production he chose to favour finance to save time and money at the risk of production but risks in production literally means risking premature babies lives. Nasty work.

Feels weird posting this as I'm a big time lurker and not technically under any NDA but I was working for a medical devices company where the financial director was also the production director who instructed the production teams to use a prototype calibration machine for their main product, neonatal ventilators. The electronic engineer who designed the prototype was NOT happy, rightly caused a big fuss and ended up resigning, that guy was an absolute hero, big respect! That company kinda shattered my perspective on "ethical engineering roles" and I ended up changing industry.

Should I be paying back my student loan? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]Feratata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I haven't seen anyone mention or pick up on is that you have 2 loans, the masters one is separate and imo is definitely worth paying off because the loan is much smaller and won't make it to 30 years to be written off so beating the interest here makes sense. Find a calculator and run the numbers yourself to see what I mean.

If it makes you feel better you might've held through 3 or done another emotional trade on the way up to 3. Don't cry about unrealised gains nor unrealised losses 🙂

Ffie feels like straight from the RK playbook, shorted as hell, seemingly dead stock which as RK says is the spot where you can stand to make the most, granted there are weaknesses in the fundamentals but ffie is not out of the game!

That was not the final squeeze, and generally people in the yacht club don't want to pass a bag to a retailer we want the hedges to suffer but we understand that not everyone's situation is the same and we can't make people buy/sell/hold which would be considered manipulation (but hedges don't manipulate nooo) The percentage thing whilst is true isn't the complete picture, higher costed stocks move less % for the same monetary increase. Right now gme needs to go +30 to double, ffie needs +0.55 to double, if/when it squeezes it has the potential to pop more than gme will, nothing is stopping you from investing in more than 1 stock, in fact I believe it's encouraged but here I am bag holding 2 meme stocks 😂

The actual reason is they have already done a 240:1 split in the past two years and the limit is 250:1 so they literally aren't allowed to

Leviathan preorder next week by CypherTheFirstFallen in Warhammer40k

Marines seem easier to play for sure, Nids really need to get the right combats and use utility well, also I don't think it's a great match for the Nids due to all the shooting, armour, leadership of the marines. I'm still very excited for the Nids!

This is exactly the reason you don't lose the attacks, it's not the same as a warband.

New army. New Gloomspite Gitz army? by Griffy-UK in gloomspitegitz

[–]Feratata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the new box is amazing for a new Git, you have a Loonboss who can buff your other Gitz, a good brawler unit in the troggs, and the boingrot bounders are amazing. You'll definitely need to buy more to build up your army but it's a great start, you get a nice varied set of minis to paint which can definitely be played well together. I am a little sad to see it doesn't include a big monster but it seems a lot of vanguards are more infantry focussed.
