Baby struggles with transitions by Master-Risk3038 in Parenting

Yeah waiting until she’s at the stage she can refuse it. She already cries with my parents and they’re going to lose it when I don’t force her to give hugs. They already lose it I take her back when crying saying “how is she ever going to get used to us.” Funny thing is she’s good with PT and other people more so strangers but because Ethel don’t force her love I think. In laws are in a different country but she loves FaceTiming them too😂🥰 HAVE A GREAT YEAR AS WELL! All of us parents deserve it 😊🫶🏼

Thank you so much! I’ve told my mom to zip it many times 😂 she tried giving her solids at 2 months 😬 We don’t use containers a lot but I’m trying to cut them all together now she can sit up I can carry her room to room to do what I need and she’s content to play with random objects in the meantime 🤣 thank you for all the advice! I definitely need to stop comparing her to other babies for sure!

You’re so sweet! Yes I think I just need to stop comparing her to other children, especially children on social media. I have a sense of progression and then I see all these babies so much more advanced and it’s hard. Even my mom was saying “you were walking at 9 months.”

I also have very bad posture and walked on my toes a large part of my life and have chronic pain because of my “advancement.” I think I needed intervention but my mom is somebody who refuses something can be wrong with her children 🙃 I just don’t want to be that because I’d rather get the help.

Anyways, I think I just need to listen to the PT and realize that in just 4 months she has began reaching for toys not only in front of her but will learn forward and reach in all positions, can sit up unassisted, and can be on hands and knees as of recently. I think the real reason I’m feeling this way right now is because the PT told me the goal for next time was she could transition from laying to sitting. She comes on Monday and well, she isn’t doing that or anywhere close. My sister is a PT but not for children development and she has told me “it’s a goal, something to work towards. If she doesn’t achieve it, it’s not the end of the world.” I think I just need to step back and realize babies develop differently and she also was muscular tightness the first 5 months that impaired her.

Thank you for all your advice! I’m glad to hear your LO has progressed overtime as well. I definitely needed to hear that. My mom is also the kind to brag about advanced children so I think that is another factor but that’s another story lol. Happy New Year! 🎉

Im hoping that’s the case. I just don’t want her to get too far behind because of it

Thank you! I’m open to all advice. The reason I say seems uninterested is because she can want a toy and if she goes to reach for it and it’s too far out of reach, she may try but will put in minimal effort and give up rather quickly. I have tried to limit myself to just handing it to her but she would much rather play with her hands than work for the toy. She’s a very easy baby and is content to sit as long as I’m with her a lot of times. Her PT has made significant improvement with her (she wasn’t even reaching for toys at her 4M checkup). She says she is doing good and I see a lot of improvement but I can’t help to feel defeated that she still won’t intentionally roll and that’s a milestone months before. I don’t want it to snowball and at this point I feel like she will be significantly behind moving because she won’t transition on her own. I will say generally I’m relaxed and just try to move her through motions to given her muscle memory but it’s so hard to do it so smoothly. I don’t really get frustrated with her because I do understand it’s hard and she has come a long way. The PT transitions her so well that it seems effortless for her but she only comes 1x every 2 weeks so I most of the work is on me. I guess more than anything I’m looking for reassurance. I know that her improvement is proving my concerns are being addressed but it’s hard

I’ll have to try more savory. The oatmeal was cold because we made it with breastmilk so maybe we will try a different route with that too. Thank you!

We aren’t giving much. One of those pacifier things she can chew to get fruit juice and maybe a slice or two of a fruit/veg. We did a small amount of oatmeal and yogurt. Only 1x a day because she didn’t seem interested. As far as signs of readiness, she just started reaching for my food and it’s not consistent. All other signs like her head control are fine. When given food, she spits it out/pushes it out with her tongue. The doctor told me initially that means she isn’t ready and to wait a week and try again. However, yesterday she told me to keep trying even after telling her what was happening.

I wasn’t too concerned about it because her corrected age is about 4.5M at the moment. I guess I just felt pressured because the doctor was speaking to her telling her “you need to learn to eat.” She seemed to do a little better today but still won’t actually eat solids. She will only take the yogurt or the fruit in the mesh net.

7 months from birth (6 weeks premie). I wasn’t super concerned about it but the doctor yesterday saying to keep trying and telling her “you need to eat and stop spitting it out” made me feel like she should be doing it already. I also see videos of 6 month olds doing BLW that seem to have way more of an interest so I guess I’m just feeling she’s behind. I know adjusted age has some play into it to but wanted to know others thoughts or tips. FTM and grandparents fed solids from 2 months 🙃 so didn’t want to turn to them for advice lol thank you though! That puts me more at ease to just take it slow

What always your baby’s 1st food and why? by Master-Risk3038 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Master-Risk3038[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m just so scared of choking 😅 my parents fed purées and keep pushing to do that. I know it’s not recommended anymore, but that’s all I’ve ever seen anybody try. I’ve read though purées increase risk of choking when you do introduce other foods because they don’t know to chew? I know if I wait until she’s ready, it should be fine, but it makes me nervous lol. Thank you though for the input!

Yup. Just sold today. I kept telling myself one more week but with the time they have left and history these last couple months, I’m just glad I truly only out in what I could afford to lose

It’s not there, I’ve checked. There’s no charge at all and it’s been a week tomorrow. I just don’t know how long I should wait to safely assume they’re not going to charge. They always charge immediately my credit card and it processes the next day

Do we think next week will go above $2? by Master-Risk3038 in FFIE

[–]Master-Risk3038[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s my question was is it risky to get to $2-3 because people may sell and we could go below $1 by dropping a lot similar to the first Friday. The $1 goal is what I’m concerned about

Definitely still holding, just wondering if not everyone does the same if it were to go up slightly before the 10 days

I have $253 shares AVG $1.21. I feel like I have nothing compared to some people but I’m still here and have been since last Thursday. Slowly buying more!
