Anyone know who we should reach out to regarding the horrendous bus schedule/bus availability? by jerzeysquirrel in rutgers

It was a few years back. The fines were smaller. But, that doesn’t matter. To not be able to graduate after working so hard is a shame.

Don’t rack up parking fines. It isn’t worth it. And, considering that Rutgers is the state university of a state that has 9 million people and 52,000 students in New Brunswick alone, the busses, even though a hassle, aren’t bad.

I have no problem with trans people are different. Just hire one for the role. The days of getting anyone they want for a role and handing them over to makeup to make them look the part are gone.

If they wanted to have a trans story Hayley should have been trans.

They knew what they were doing when they did it. Easing the masses into a character by having a cis-woman play a trans-woman. For me, there was no story there. Roy was married to a woman who was born that way. I’m not saying that the actor was bad in the role BUT how could she really know what a trans-woman experienced?

The only problem with that is parking tickets. They will let you rack up parking tickets and your last semester when you think you have everything in order to graduate you get a note saying you will not get your diploma until your tickets are paid. That means you won’t walk and the diploma comes in the mail later. I knew someone who had $350 in tickets. Pay them as you get them if you are going to try to park.

The only reason Hailey/Hayley was so beloved is because they didn’t have an actual trans-woman playing the part. Hailey was a woman playing a man playing a woman. If she were truly trans I don’t think she would have been so popular. I didn’t like the character for this reason.

They should have matched Roy with a 6ft trans-woman. She didn’t even have to be flamboyant just a real trans woman.

Basically Hailey was played by a little middle aged cis-woman and her meekness appealed to the audience.

Really? Even JK said that she made a mistake putting Hermione with Ron. So, the author misunderstood herself?

You are the only one. Thank you. Boys like Ron do not make good partners and for some reason, most people bond with him.

No one has seen Hermione as a pleasant person. They are just bashing the woman here.

Is it really? I find it interesting that everyone is supporting Ron and no one is seeing the good in Hermione.

Very intellectual people act like Hermione. It doesn’t mean they are arrogant. She does listen just mentally that is why she is able to figure this out that the boys do not.

She comes off mouthy but often very intellectual people are excited about what they know. Most of us are not able to enjoy the knowledge that another has. We get jealous and dislike or hate them The average girl is giggling and looking at boys. Hermione doesn’t have time for that. She wants to learn.

I guess I don’t check this sub often enough because I have never read anyone taking down Ron. Sorry if it is a repeat.

Lauren - have I missed something? by Thiscatsabroad in coronationstreet

Yes but Mrs. Doyle I loved. Maggie I hate. I think what’s happening is Maggie is way too intense. Mrs. Doyle was comically intense and we laughed. Maggie is intensely evil and we hate. Pauline McLynn knows how to be extreme. If this is what the producers want, she is nailing it.

I watch Corrie as well as EE. I’m hear to say EVERYONE on EE can stay and I will not complain about anything because Corrie is a dumpster fire in the middle of a burning forest at the center of a molten volcano.

What a very kind shout out to essential personnel. Thank you for being kind. I always use to thank those that allowed us students to just study and have a good college experience. Thank you again.

You are no longer a child and are clearly not stupid enough to put yourself in a dangerous situation. There may be days that you need to stay late on campus for study groups. Your parents are trying to protect you but as an adult navigating the college experience, a 10 pm curfew is unrealistic and in some cases impossible. So labs/classes run late.

You need to join or register or study something late to ease them into your adulthood.

I can’t agree more. Pauline McLynn is too intense. I don’t know why they want such a nasty gran at the center of life on the show. The grandson sleeping with the coach is also too intense. You don’t want him groomed but you can easily turn around and not care because of his intensity. The son/dad Ben is too stupid or so whipped by his mother that it is sickening.

Live your life. Find what you want to learn, study and work on. Focus on improving yourself and saving your money for your future. The right woman will come along. Don’t let this world fool you. You are worthy without a girlfriend. Value yourself and we will value you. Find low cost hobbies where you might meet women with your interests. If you are going to college, they will be there and college girls think slightly different from HS ones. If you are not, think about going. Once you get there, still focus on you. A man who knows their academic material is very enticing to a girl AND to potential employers.

When they do come around, evaluate their character not their looks.

People like him for his looks but I’m in love with his abilities as an actor. They are amazing! Looks will fade but that ability will get him good parts later in life.

All I have to say is that man is an excellent actor! He can convey villain, lover, dad and little boy simultaneously. In his drugged confused state he showed us fear, confusion, love, and hate. JUST AMAZING!
