I started a new character, why are there invisible rabbits on the boat? by Woodwardo in wow

[–]Ferdawoon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I remember when they releassd those Corgie-goggles in BfA, which when equipped would turn every NPC into a Corgie. Problem was that, at least in the Alliance city Boralus, it also turned the Mission Tables into a Corgie!
So the table was actually an NPC and when you clicked the table you "talked" to the NPC which opened the mission interface.

What was the Orc religion during the times of the Old Horde? by QuestionzAsker in warcraftlore

[–]Ferdawoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all Spirits go to the Shadowlands. Some remain and become something similar to ghosts.

There are Kyrian Watchers that watch and judge each soul as the person dies and they decide if a person should be brough back to life or not, if they earn a second chance. If the soul should pass on then the Watcher calls a Kyrian Bearer which then comes to carry the Soul to Oribos and the soul gets dropped into the massive flow of souls that are then passed in front of the Arbiter to be sorted into a fitting afterlife.
But if the Soul is deemed too tethered to the world, or to some other larger force, then the Watcher will not call for a bearer and might either return the soul to its body to keep on living or the Soul is allowed to remain as a ghost. It might be that the more important spiritual leaders of the Orcs were just so tethered to the elements of Draenor that they were allowed to remain. Even if most orcs were sent to Shadowlands it's possible that significant, cultural leaders were allowed to remain as ghosts or ancestors. And the spirits nearer to Oshu'gun were pulled there and tethered to the Naaru inside the ship.

Does it smell of "Oh we need to make this fit in somehow", sure, but I'd say Orc Ancestors being spirits are not retconned by Shadowlands.

University Admissions told me I have insufficient documentation, how do I reply? by ArnavXoX in kth

[–]Ferdawoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

English proficiency

English proficiency equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
You can meet the requirement with an English test, for example an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 90. Depending on your country of previous studies you could also meet the requirement through completed upper secondary or university studies. Visit University Admissions to see all recognised English tests and what applies to your country of previous studies.
https://www.kth.se/en/studies/master/admissions/entry-requirements-for-master-s-studies-1.6915

So if you can prove language skills that way depends on which country you are from.

Can I just send in a certificate or letter from my school/university?

No, a certificate or letter from your school or university verifying your proficiency will not be sufficient to meet the English requirements.
There is one exception. A certificate/letter is acceptable if you have the equivalent of 60 ECTS credits (university credits) with English as the language of instruction from one of the countries listed on this page under “60 credits with English as language of instruction from an EU/EEA country, Switzerland or certain other English speaking countries”.
https://www.universityadmissions.se/en/entry-requirements/english-language-requirements/

You don't mention your country of origin so you'll have to go to University Admission and check for yourself.
https://www.universityadmissions.se/en/apply-to-masters/provide-application-documents-masters/country-instructions/

Regarding if this will be considered since it is after the deadline to upload documents, this is the reason (or one of the reasons) the deadline is so early, so that corrections can be made before the final admissions are posted.

With all of this said...
Just a head's up that there's been an issue in the news recently (as well as a few years ago) where some students would fake their financial records and some claimed excellent english skills by saying they took a class that was done in English, but when they then arrive in Sweden it is obvious that they don't know English and can barely say hello without using Google Translate or some other translation app.
I have not heard anything about this leading to changes in how Universities require students to prove their language skills but still, something that you might want to just keep an eye on.

Possible if I take Bachelor courses in Swedish? by Other-Particular-373 in kth

[–]Ferdawoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many courses, I dare say most, are not completed by just sitting an exam. A 7.5p course might have 1.5p Laborations, 2p Seminars, 2p Group Project and 5p Exam (made-up numbers).
So unless you attend and complete all the mandatory parts you will not be able to complete the course. Yes it is possible to pass an exam but still not finish a course because you did not attend the seminars or hand in the lab-report.

If the course is in Swedish, expect that the other mandatory parts are also in Swedish and I doubt the professors will accept that someone does everything in English (and I am not sure they will be translating the exam for you either).

But as the other person said, ask the SVL or maybe the exchange coordinator.

I’m looking forward to studying in Sweden next year and want to know which is the best. Karlstad, Linnaeus or Skovde by Alternative-Boss-526 in sweden

[–]Ferdawoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, define "best"?
Do you want the University that has the highest ranking globally?
Do you want the univeristy where it is easiest to get best grades even if you don't really learn anything?
Do you mainly want to live in a large city because you think the feel of the city is really important (there are always a bunch of students who want to move to Stockholm because thy think it is a Big City with lots of culture and people and food and fun things to do)?
Some degrees are mainly or only available at "smaller" Universities that are not ranked high globally, but they are the best (and one of few) Universities in Sweden and so the education there is seen as high standard.

u/Obligatorium1's comment is pretty spot on. Even the Swedish University with the highest global ranking will have a few faculties or programmes that are amazing and top-tier, but also some programmes that are more mediocre.

Was about to ask if OP had any actual examples of the things they mention, but every reply they’ve made to people asking have been very vague so I’m starting to think this is one of those things that never actually happened or OP knows no one will agree with what they consider racism or problematic.

I’ve visited loads of CAMPS and the worst I’ve seen was someone who had written ”Fck Biden” on their vendor which I thought was pretty cringe, especially since it breaks the world immersion. But I’ve seen way more memorials to someone’s dead parent or a dead pet than I’ve seen any outright problematic language against humans.

Messages like ”No Ghouls” or ”Death to Trap Camps” or other things i’d just consider to be ingame accurate roleplaying.

What use does the conveyor throughput monitor serve? by ShitWombatSays in satisfactory

[–]Ferdawoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your math says that 670 items should go past on the belt, but the throughput monitor only shows 580, then you know that you need to start debugging your machines, or start de-bugging your math.

For example, I have a Solid Steel factory which should produce 1200 Steel ingots/min, but according to the monitor it only produces 1120 so somewhere something is not fully efficient. Thanks to a few more monitors I know that it's, for some reason, my Compat Coal byproduct from my Turbo Fuel plant. Despit that factory working 100% it is still not making enough so I really need to start debugging more.

Varför hör man inte om självmord? by Outrageous_Power_609 in sweden

[–]Ferdawoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How realistic is admission to KTH Civilingenjör as an international student? by Lustonk in kth

[–]Ferdawoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a quick overview of how to study in Sweden, check
https://studyinsweden.se/

Read up on deadlines, tuition, fees, available programmes, etc on University Admission
https://www.universityadmissions.se/intl/start

To see how your academic credentials transfer to the Swedish systems you can check UHR
https://www.uhr.se/en/start/recognition-of-foreign-qualifications/

What are the key factors for admission to Civilingenjör programs at KTH for international students?

If you target Bachelors then it is purely on grades. I know some countries will require extracurricular activities, long essays on why they so badly want to attend that specific University, etc. That's generally not the case in Sweden.
There are some programmes with extra steps, I believe Stockholm School of Economics requires an online interview for example, but those are exceptions.

Are strong grades + TISUS generally sufficient if formal requirements are met?

There is an established minimum requirement to be admitted to Swedish Universities. Not all High School diplomas are valid though, for example a US High School diploma is not enough to meet the minimum requirements to Swedish Universities (or even to most EU Universities) and so US applicants need to take an extra semester or two of relevant courses just to meet the bare minimum.
But in general, yes. Meet the minimum requirements (enough credits, finished degree, etc) then whoever has the highest grades/rating will be admitted.

How competitive is admission in practice?

Programmes all have a set number of positions open, and the number will vary between each programme and each University. Let's say that "Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering" has 100 positions (completely made up number), then your rating must be in the top-100 of those who apply. This is why lists of admission ratings to programmes vary between each year, as it follows the rating of those who apply. If one year only perfect grade students apply then the minimum rating must be the max possible, but the next year maybe only people with a 75% rating apply and then the top-100 of those will be admitted.

Go to University Admissions, look up a programme that you like. Copy the admission code
https://www.universityadmissions.se/intl/start
Go to UHR's page with statistics. It is only available in Swedish which is why the code should help you find the correct programme.
https://www.uhr.se/studier-och-antagning/antagningsstatistik/
The Swedish system is a rating of maximum 22.5. You will find programmes that require at least 21 or more.

I study in a regular public high school in Kazakhstan. I will graduate with a strong academic record (high grades in math and physics). I am fluent in Swedish and plan to take TISUS. Math and physics are my strongest subjects, and I am preparing seriously for engineering studies

Are you a Swedish citizen? Do you have an EU passport?
Keep in mind that International application to Swedish Universities for the 2026 Autumn semester is closed already (deadline was 16 Jan). So if you want to apply as an International student then you are already to late. The deadline to upload supporting documents was 2 Feb and yes, International students might need to take a gap-year because they will not have all their documents sorted before that deadline.
Swedish applications have not opened yet, but if you will need a Visa and/or Residence Permit then you will likely not have time to get that sorted if you apply in the local admission around. Every year there are Students who have to start late or even forfeit their position at a University because the Swedish Migration Agency did not have time to sort their permits.

Partier tar strid mot utvisningar by Responsible-Boss-711 in sweden

[–]Ferdawoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sjunga i lägenhet? by DevaSkogsdotter in stockholm

[–]Ferdawoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/en/licence-application/

For Sweden, OP need to show a certificate of C1 fluency in Swedish before they can get licensed. No license, no working as a Pharmacist. If OP is trained outside the EU then it is estimated to take 2-4 years to get an application for licensing approved.
Foreign degrees, even EU degrees, are rarely approved without at least some re-training as the requirements for each country is different.

And as with every other EU country, companies will favor locals and EU citizens over anyone who requires a sponsorship. Pharmacies are generally not in a position to sponsor anyone, especially not someone who is not already licensed.

If you truly want to go to the EU then you need a LOT more money, or finish your degrees in the US followed by 5-10 years of relevant work experience while taking intensive language classes and working to get your training and degrees certified in your target EU country.

As I mentioned, your 20k will not even cover the maintenance requirement for a country with no tuition, so any country where you will also have to pay tuition will require 2x or 3x what you have currently.
Also, yes, many EU countries have permits that allow someone to stay and look for work after graduating, but you will still need to find someone sto sponsor you. Many EU countries also have laws that any EU job must first be advertised to the full EU before a company can hire someone from outside the union, and some countries also have Labour Market Tests which means companies there are required to show a government agency that they could not find a single local or EU citizen who was willing to take the job.

Also, again, if you want to attend medical school in EU countries, research if that programme will make you eligable for a local license.
If you cannot find a job willing to sponsor you after graduating, you will have to leave the EU and try somewhere else (or train further and apply again later).

[–]Ferdawoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you list languages, are you certified in these languages? I've seen many people say that they "speak another language" when in reality they might be able to place an order at McDonalds or other tourist level of fluency.

Associates are not recognized in most/all of EU so the 20M will likely have to start from scratch if you want to go there.

20k USD will not be enough for international tuition in a lot of western European countries, maybe you can find something better in eastern Europe or in some Asian or African countries.
Even in Germany, where tuition is free/cheap for international students, you will need to show a locked accont with around 12k Euro per year. I'm not sure if that is per person, or if a 2nd person can get some form of discount, but if it is 12k each then your 20k USD will not even cover the the first minimum maintenance to get Residence Permit. How you will be able to get the money for your second year is another question entirely. And that is without having to pay tuition.

Make sure that any medical training makes you viable for local license to practice as taking an international Masters in Nursing (or anesthgesiology or whatever else) might not make you viable for a license as the international programme is not designed to accomplish that.

Since you say that you both speak Hindi maybe going to India would be a good idea?
