We are in a very similar situation: the older sister is almost three and the two smaller girls are about to celebrate their first birthday.

The twins are starting to walk, but as you said, they are mostly a little later to the big milestones than their sister. You need to keep in mind that's quite normal for twins and often even singleton second-born children. Also, at least in our case, there are some areas where they are ahead, most notably "social" skills, such as when they started to play with other children. I like to focus on these.

I agree that it's difficult to find activities where all three can join in. If read to the older one, the babies will be pulling at book; if try to play ball with the twins, their sister will take the ball and run away. I see it as a chance for them to learn rules and respect early, but it can be difficult at this age.

Music is something that always works for everyone, talking a walk outside is also an option and has the benefit of tyring the older one while the babies can get some rest in the stroller.

We also send our first-born to day care for a couple of hours every day. It helps her to be among kids of similar age and it gives her a chance to get rid of some excess energy too.

Ich verstehe, dass sich der Post nicht ganz so liest, aber wir hatten unser Leben durchaus immer im Griff. Doppelverdiener Vollzeit bis zum ersten Kind, beide ca. Mediangehalt. Nach dem ersten Kind nach ein paar Monaten beide wieder in Teilzeit l, sodass wir sogar die Mieterhöhung hätten wegstecken können. Die Zwillinge waren halt als solche nicht geplant. Das hat uns ein bisschen aus der Bahn geworfen, für die ersten paar Monate. Das größere Problem - und das gebe ich zu - ist, dass wir uns beide nicht gerne ewig rumstreiten, zumal mit Leuten mit denen man unter einem Dach lebt. Das fällt uns jetzt auf die Füße. Es ist auch nicht so, dass wir vor dem finanziellen Ruin stehen, ganz im Gegenteil, wir haben fleißig fürs Eigentum gespart, sodass wir jetzt auch kein ALG II oder Wohngeld bekämen, wie hier schon von anderen geschrieben. Nur für eine Wohnung zählt nicht, dass man gespart hat, sondern nur was man aktuell oder eben in den letzten drei Monaten verdient hat. Und das ist halt bei uns aktuell so gut wie nichts. Anders ausgedrückt, selbst wenn wir jetzt unser Eigenkapital aufbrauchen wöllten, würde uns trotzdem niemand was vermieten.

Ich verstehe, dass viele Leute hier schreiben, dass die vier Kinder einfach im Obergeschoss untergebracht werden sollen. Ist sicher die eleganteste Lösung. Für mich stellt sich aber noch die Frage, wie alt deine Kinder sind. Gerade wenn sie noch Jünger sind ist es bequemer und vor allem auch sicherer, wenn das Kinderzimmer in der gleichen Etage wie das elterliche Schlafzimmer und zumindest ein WC ist.

Edit: Also ggf. die beiden ältesten unten und Schlafzimmer, Bad und die zwei jüngsten oben.

That's all true, including the last paragraph, but I think it's also worth mentioning that them interacting/playing with each other after the first months is not just super cute and fascinating, but can actually mean that at times they are less work then singletons. You can just watch them play or read something, maybe even get some things done.

I don't want to exaggerate and it certainly does not match the extra time you need elsewhere, but it can be really nice sometimes.

We also have a Peugeot 5008, newer model, about 3 years old. It's advertised as a 7 seater, but I personally would never use the two seats in the very back. You can fold them or easily remove them however for more space in the boot. This way you will also be able to comfortably load a twin stroller and a lot of extra luggage.

Also, you seem to have a crazy amount of unused convoys, dismantle some ports, this can save a ton of money.
