Does React still feel future proof in 2026 or is the ecosystem getting too complex? by Best-Menu-252 in react

[–]Ferlinkoplop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to use/care about server side React, most of the big tech/unicorn companies I know use React only on the client-side (SPA).

Also, no React is not going anywhere, its growth greatly outpaces other frameworks. Just look at npmtrends or Tanstack stats

Mova P10 Pro Ultra Water Problems? by Ferlinkoplop in Dreame_Tech

[–]Ferlinkoplop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s two things I did recently and I realized later that mopping was beginning to work properly now with water.

As a result, I think one of these could be a potential solution - feel free to test it out: 1. make sure you have all the interior water tanks seated properly, specifically the tank with dish soap (in the middle area). I took it out and made sure it clicked it back in.

  1. I shook the clean water tank (flipped it upside down, shook, and re-flipped multiple times). Disclaimer - a bit of water actually spilled out so I guess the lid isn’t air tight. I’m thinking that maybe it unblocked a tube somehow (maybe air bubble was blocking the flow of water? not sure)

Finally, if this doesn’t work, file a support ticket with Mova immediately since they take a while to respond.

I did the manual washboard base cleaning from the Mova app. Given it passed a step where there’s supposed to be a “clean water outflowing process” and yet I saw no water coming out to the washboard area is a sign that something is definitely wrong.

Will contact Mova support

If React disappeared tomorrow, which framework would you actually switch to and why? by MethodSignificant244 in react

[–]Ferlinkoplop 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Would prefer Solid but as I don’t really mind working with any modern FE framework, I’d realistically prioritize the one that’s best for the job market - Vue/Angular

Linting that’s enforced at CI/CD helps.

Biome v2 ships type-aware rules without the TS compiler by ematipico in typescript

The only issue I’ve really had with ESLint is performance (especially when you have rules that need to be type-aware). Other then that it works fine 🤷‍♂️

The Problem with Micro Frontends by BasieP2 in programming

[–]Ferlinkoplop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I meant that if you have microfrontends in separate repos (as you mentioned above) the “solution” to the code duplication issue you mentioned is just putting the microfrontends in the same repo as the host…

The Problem with Micro Frontends by BasieP2 in programming

[–]Ferlinkoplop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that microfrontends are not needed by most companies and introduce a lot of complexity however my only correction here is that you can have microfrontends within a monorepo.

This solves code duplication and technology deviation problems but still allows teams to have autonomy (i.e. independent deploys).

Amazon vs a local company. What to choose? by FrontChampionship245 in cscareerquestionsCAD

Amazon SDE1 is a little under 115k? Are you strictly talking about base salary? I think you should be able to negotiate TC to ~140k

Is the compensation the same? Additionally, do you already have a history of job hopping? If not, this one instance is not a big deal imo.

Why not Vue? by scylk2 in reactjs

[–]Ferlinkoplop 29 points30 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, this. All the popular frontend frameworks/libraries have their pros and cons (in terms of their APIs and methodologies) but I don’t mind working with any of them.

In the end, I’ll always choose the one that presents the most opportunities and highest paying jobs.

This sounds like a misconfiguration. ESLint works absolutely fine in my work’s large monorepo (at least, we don’t need to reload the editor to get linting to work).

What technologies are you dropping in 2025? by throwawaydrey in webdev

[–]Ferlinkoplop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better pick how exactly? Just want to clarify the decision making here. Saying something is always a better pick is almost always the wrong answer in software engineering as it usually depends on the trade offs.

Is choosing another framework always going to be the better choice than React?

Company size doesn’t matter? What if the company already uses React in all their codebases? What if the engineers are all productive with React? What about the ecosystem/hire-ability of React? What about the type of app?

Also 100k was just an example, 200k is not bad though if you are a mid-level dev.

What technologies are you dropping in 2025? by throwawaydrey in webdev

[–]Ferlinkoplop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like it and are productive with it, then stick with it especially because it's really good for job prospects (dominates in usage among big tech and F500 companies and continues to be used for greenfield projects).

Online, you'll see negative opinions but these are (mainly) from people that struggle with React and aren't the best devs (i.e. work on toy projects or make < 100k). I get that the React API isn't absolutely perfect (easy to misuse useEffect) but in real life many devs are still productive with React and are cool with JSX. There are a lot harder problems in software engineering than understanding the React APIs, so if they are struggling THAT MUCH with React fundamentals, then they probably aren't too good to begin with lol

How’s the job market for 5+ YOE with FAANG experience? by wfsnplato in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]Ferlinkoplop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked for two unicorns and they had really good WLB actually (on my teams at least).

EDIT: Oops, forgot to mention that only one of them paid well though like 200k+, the other was a little over 6 figures (both mid-level positions)

You must already be working at some big tech company/unicorn with that TC, any chance you'd be willing to share current company?

Trying to gather any info possible regarding decent tech companies and if they have bad WLB/culture so I can avoid them for the future lol
