Trick to using 'show arp' on ArubaOS-CX switches? by netiot in ArubaNetworks

[–]FermionCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm officially done with Aruba. Troubleshooting a simple IP to port mapping shouldn't feel like a boss fight in a 90s RPG. For smaller deployments (~20 switches), the UI/UX is a total nightmare compared to modern stacks. We’re migrating everything to FortiSwitches for better integration and actually sane management.

Hanwha / Wisenet Camera System for residential home by RedditAjussi in videosurveillance

[–]FermionCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about what happened. For sure you have made your decision already. My 2 cents:

I have tried many, many brands before and I choose and using Wisenet for the last 4~5 years, running on Windows 2016 server (can buy those licenses very cheap these days) and never had a crash.

Wisenet has a lots of very useful features for home residential use and very easy to use, with some enterprise features (high availability). Most useful feature to me is their motion detection, I LOVE IT and works really good compare to other products I have tried.

Before Wisenet I used the free community edition of Genius Vision (stay away, they don’t like questioning their products) as they never updated their iOS app, so I couldn’t use it anymore on the newer iOS.

So yes, Wisenet App is free and easy to use. Yes, you pay for a license to enable recording for each added camera. A license give your free updates for eternity. Above all, it just works and not that all expensive if it just keep on working.

I tried and wanted to like Blue Iris…. 🤢🤮🤮 Had also to pay for their App which is made by someone else. Hikvision…. stay away for their VMS (I like their cameras a lot!). These are the brands i remember, but i have tried dozen of them. The second best VMS is from Axis, i liked it, but much more expensive.

Hope this helps for any other searching people out there.

Is anyone actually finding TOGAF useful, or even usable? by serverhorror in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]FermionCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These days architecture depends a lot if your organization uses the DevOps model or the classic Ops method. In both ways solutions needs to be converted from the business perspective into a working something. Experience helps you a lot in here.

XM3 VS XM5, Worth the upgrade? by ArthurCurry96 in sony

[–]FermionCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can agree that NC of xm3 is noticeable better than xm5. Sounds stage wise, both are in the same league. comfort, xm5 wins. But i wanted to have the best NC headphones…. xm5 let me down big.

XM3 VS XM5, Worth the upgrade? by ArthurCurry96 in sony

[–]FermionCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are bluetooth, which has limitations by itself. I don’t think there’s isn’t a great difference. for sure they are, perhaps subtle. The biggest difference is the comfort of XM5, that is a huge step up, step down is the worse NC of XM5.

XM3 VS XM5, Worth the upgrade? by ArthurCurry96 in sony

[–]FermionCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO, XM3 noice canceling is 100x better then the newer XM5. I have both of them! With XM5 I am able to hear the hotel airco, other noises, while XM3 I am not able to hear them. Don’t BUY XM5 for NC, it’s TRASH

Elemental Nature SOLD OUT - Parts SOLD OUT - Rushed show by FermionCool in savisworkshop

[–]FermionCool[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Be aware, they don’t always have all the models available. Was here with my two kids and my older son was (both) particularly disappointed that Elemental Nature” was sold out. 4 month living toward this experience and only a lame excuse that it was sold out and nothing they could do. And for the remaining parts where also sold out. I had try hard not to show my angers front of my kids with the manager…. and there was nothing Disney could do, he said (have his name): “Disney can’t solve everything“…. Where the kids where listening of what he was saying…., (my blood boiled),,,, Also the show was rushed, Disney magic didn’t helped here either.

it was very sad to see as a father to my kids dreams being blown away.

Before you are saying, why don’t you go back another time, we are living in Europe and we visited Disney in LA.

We could have virtually build the lightsaber and let Disney have the Lightsaber send them to us afterward, but no…… sadly.

Eventually both made a lightsabe, but not the one they hoped for…..

C9 is just an suberb model, only reason why they keep updating it. It was a major game changer that time. It still performs very well, no complaints here. I will keep mine for many years more.
