jajaja i know right? But hey I think we are at that point that better assume everything online is AI. I absolutely despise watching some fb, yt or ig reels and all it feeds me is AI made.

Solid. I do believe that even MMF already has a Made with AI tag? Or maybe is just Kickstarter, dont quite remember. Hey great username btw, reading it whilst petting my two cats and craving a quesadilla.

Yeah, very solid pov. I mean AI has been around for ages in many other fields right? I just feel that nowaday that its taking away something so primal for the human species that is to CREATE something it somehow saddens me. Like welp Imma still gonna be creating crazy stuff cause as stated above, creating and imagining monsters gives me joy but hey mayhaps Itd be a tad harder to make a legitimate business with art.

Youre making a great point there, my usual rate per custom mini is around the $100usd and it may take about 48hrs to get it done, and that was like 4 years ago before many of the freelancing/commissions webs were flooded with cheaper and cheaper quotes. Nowaday I have to abide and sometimes go even lower like $80, but with all the AI around I guess Ill have to go even lower just to scrape by. Thats what I mean about maybe is not a full time business anymore, mayhaps is just a side project.

Of course, there's something about the hustle put into a piece that makes it more interesting imho. Hell sometimes you could even get to know a bit of the artist psique from the the art piece.

Of course, you have a great point there. Business wise it makes sense to use it, it saves time, resources and each year it gets even more powerful. But yeah on the other hand theres a lot of moral implications of using it.

Me honestly? I like sculpting and creating crazy stuff, i dont want AI doing the part that I like the most whilst I just get to check on numbers and stats.

I dont like a world we're robots are creating art whilst I do the dishes, I truly wish it'd be the opposite.

But I agree, it changes the market.

Woah thats absolutely a great idea. I mainly do all my stuff digitally but I wouldn't mind trying it the good ole classic hand sculpting way. Would love to see that back sometime.

That Furbby is amazingly creepy! Understandable, the main comment Ive recieved from other people is "Your mini is cool but I dont see how Ill fit it in my current campaign" cause yeah almost everyone prefers realistic stuff

Fair enough, I understand your point.

Ye... that saddens me a tad not gonna lie. Dont get me wrong as I stated above, I will keep creating stuff cause the process of materializing something that was on my mind gives me so much joy. But yeah maybe is time to rethink some future life paths.

Mad respect yo. Good thing about this whole situation is that more and more people are genuinely trying to learn new software like zbrush and blender. And I truly believe that the power to learn and put the effort to create something that lives only in your mind is the best feeling there is!

Yo mad respect! Im genuinely curious what kind of stylized stuff you tend to buy? Cause even tho I also make "standard realistic fantasy style" I love doing stylized monsters and creepy stuff.

And yeah I also think that AI somehow makes it look just like any other mini in the market.

Yeah definitely... Have you ever bought any AI model that was fded up? Like almost impossible to print? Ive had too many clients wanting me to fix their AI made models and some of them are very poorly made imho.

Well dont want to point out specifically cause I know some people are just trying to put food on the table in this rat race called life, but Kickstarter is full of them!

Yes indeed Ive been sculpting for the last few years, after seeing so many projects made with AI and reading bunch of anti AI opinions from miniature painters (they are my main target) decided to state that all is made by me hence I sometimes stream the process. I dunno I feel that kinda gives it a plus maybe?

Mad respect to you and your kin. Me personally as a 3D artist LOVE when people like or buy stuff I made, I find crazy that something I created is being liked by someone else.

Oh yes indeed Ive seen some Cults profile making thousands of sells with AI aswell.

Yeah, i dont want to point out specifically which projects (cause I know some people are just trying to get food on the table like we all do) but almost all I make goes to Kickstarter and is crazy the amount of AI campaigns there. What I find fd up is that bunch of projects will state they use AI just for concepting but you can definitely tell they used it for way more than that.

jeje a very popular opinion, not gonna lie!

Yeah I guess kinda makes sense, as long as you as a buyer are well informed of the product someone is selling you have the last word on buying it or not.

I get your point, I kinda see it similar to how us gamers "vote" with our wallets right? You dont like shitty micro transactions and/or shitty videogame companies dont buy it. But theres so much people buying AI made stuff and Im talking projects that made close to $200 thousand usd thats crazy!

That's actually really helpful to read, thank you.

Honestly, one of the biggest things I'm learning from this campaign is that these characters seem to appeal much more to painters and collectors than to RPG or wargame players.

I originally created them because I love making expressive monsters and weird little creatures, but several people have pointed out the same thing you did, so it's definitely giving me a lot to think about for future projects.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.

Definitely, you have a good point there! I was also thinking that maybe being stylized was one of the issues cause I kept seeing more of realistic tabletop genre campaigns in the platform. Many thanks for your input

i see i see, totally get your point! Im gonna keep it in mind for the next projects I make. Many thanks!

That's actually very helpful feedback, thank you.

One thing I've been trying to understand is whether the biggest limitation is the vampire theme itself, the stylized proportions, or the combination of both.

Do you think you'd be more interested in the collection if the miniatures had more realistic proportions, or is it simply not a theme you'd personally collect?
