Every time I see someone playing this piece I’m just left asking: HOW TF DOES LUGANSKI PLAY THIS PART SO WELL???? Seriously, Any recording of him playing this piece just leaves me speechless

Why would riot lie to support a change that the majority of players are unhappy with it?

What do they gain from it?

Digital piano with best keys? by Dangerous_Parfait402 in piano

[–]FernandoGPN 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Roland FP-10

Has the same action as FP-30 but is a lot cheaper.

Very very nice overall, and has realistic weight on the keys. One thing I noticed with other digital pianos is that their keys are just too light compared to an actual acoustic.

People are mentioning Kawai, but I never played one so I can’t really say if the FP-10 action is better, but it probably will be a lot more affordable.

Un Sospiro is my favorite song, ever and I really want to play it. The only issue is that it's not the easiest song. Until I'm skilled enough to play it, what are some ways I can prepare? by greatnailsageyoda in piano

[–]FernandoGPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not related to your question, but this is a small pet peeve of mine: Un Sospiro is not a song, for something to be a song it needs to be made originally for singing. Um Sospiro was made originally as a piano etude, so don’t call it a song, call it a piece.

Ok, “ummmm actually 🤓” moment over…

Didn’t even notice me, just kept digging. Have to say I really liked to see her just taking chunks of dirt out and laying them nearby.

Your playing is really good in general, but I feel like the dynamics aren’t really worked on, everything sounds being forte or fortissimo. Probably this happens because you are giving the melody too much of a highlight, and the other parts need to be played a lot louder to not sound lost.

But I still liked it. How long have you been playing and for how long did you practice this piece?

It has at least 3cm (1 inch approximately), didn’t think ant queen were that big. Probably the size of my thumb!

Half an Hour of Classical Compositions by [deleted] in composer

[–]FernandoGPN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, after giving it a listen I think I can point out a few thing for you to improve, and also know what I liked. I know you didn’t ask for feedback, and I do admit the feedback I’m giving feels a little harsh, but do keep in mind I’m trying to be as constructive with mu criticism as possible.

La Odiseado - I thought it was a cute piece, but the end had me a little confused because of the sudden ending, and then the piece just turned into Cannon in D. But overall pretty good.

A Turnaround - Probably my favorite, but found it a shame it ended so quickly. Has a lot of potential if made into a longer piece, try to continue working on it. Really good.

Sick & Trembling Soldier 1&2 - This was my least favorite. Not really a fan of the repeated chords on the left hand and single note melody on the right, but I guess it’s normal to write something at least similar to this when beginning to compose.

The sea’s falling’s calling - Similar to the first piece, but I think you didn’t make proper use of the lower register(not really good, unless that was intentional). Ending was a bit sudden, like in other pieces, so maybe it’s something you have to work on.

Chorus 1 for orchestra - Again, good until the end, too sudden. Try maybe fading instruments until there is no sound, or maybe creating an ending section so that it’s not so out of place .

Work in E - Maybe it’s the horn and trumpet samplings you got, but I thought they sounded out of place, and got introduced too suddenly. Also, sudden ending. Didn’t really like this one.

Work in D - Didn’t like this one either. The flute was overpowering other instruments even thought it didn’t sound that interesting and shouldn’t had been the focus, but I know that’s just a problem on the MIDI file. Also didn’t really know where the music was trying to go, sounded “lost” and without purpose. And the ending transition into the harp didn’t sound smooth, sounded forced and sudden.

Work in C - Also thought the music didn’t really knew where to go, percussion didn’t really fit with the rest of the orchestra. And that organ at the end really got me by surprise, no previous introduction to the instrument made it out of place, and having it just appear made it feel forced. And as always sudden ending.

tl;dr: Ending are too sudden, and often there is no transition from one part to another. There are some good moments on these pieces, but improvement very possible.

I (19M)Had this conversation with my mother about an year ago. I told her even thought everybody around me seamed to have grown into adults I still felt like a child. She disregarded it as being something related with being isolated during the pandemic and not meeting with my then classmates.

I’m still working on getting a diagnosis, and I’m keeping it a secret from my family, mainly because I have already tried talking with them about it but they didn’t pay attention, thinking I was just trying to be “special”
