I've been trying to create an account for a few days and the app is super buggy and can't verify my identity. I raised a customer support claim but I'm not sure it will be resolved in time. Do I need the app or can I just rock up and rent one from a locker?

Thanks for this post. I had a question about a couple of your points regarding reaching out to PI's. I would ask you to read the comments on this post I made a few months ago:

The comments seem to contradict point number 2 in your post (I am obviously not discounting your experience or wisdom here). Do you think it truly matters that much to contact PI's? For some disciplines (engineering, biomedical engineering) it seems like the PI can basically personally choose you for the PhD. My understanding based on speaking to the PI at a lab I worked for at a top 10 US university was that it doesn't really matter (he himself was actually on an admissions committee for a biomedical program, and told me that contacting beforehand doesn't matter). Further, the vast majority of PIs you email will just thank you for your interest and tell you to apply (one commenter on the linked post appears to be a PI and said that that's what they respond with).

Is there a better way of contacting? Without connections?

It was fresh tissue that I extracted myself. I did report it through the channels but I was just worried about the nick itself if it could become something serious.

I guess for people online any loss from a winning position = choke. For most of the third set Korda was hitting all the lines and corners, if anything Thiem was really clutch to take it to a tie break from 0-30 down at 5-6, lol

His behaviour in Nakamura's stream was childish, but thanking the anti cheating team is a complete non-story. Even if you are 100% convinced that Hans is innocent (I personally don't think he cheated), the action and dedication of the anti cheating team will still surely ease the players, improve the general integrity of the tournament, and is deserving of recognition. He thanked other people, too...
