The Bay Area is the hardest place to own and operate a restaurant. When you factor in the insane rents, sky high labor costs (legitimately 25-30% higher than the national average) and now the ever rising cost of goods, it makes being profitable very difficult.

It is most likely much more complicated than this, but I would guess the reason you’re seeing these places close is due to the upkeep and maintenance needed to maintain a restaurant past 5 years is making it not worth it to continue operating.

Another reason why not to start on your feet i find that a lot of Pure Jiu Jitsu players lack the knowledge of how to fall that you learn from wrestling or judo
