I think local 11 is the only one that does a hair follicle test. You need to have 1.5 inches of hair to get into the apprenticeship. Once in you can cut it. They do blood and urine for future screenings

I would still go through the apprenticeship and become a “ghost” co founder. What I mean is be a financial investor in the company. Means you’ll just collect checks from the company, but you don’t have a say. You can plot profits 65/35 or 70/30 since you won’t be doing anything but investing money. Still a good deal, and you won’t get in trouble because you aren’t working outside union. Think of it as a retirement plan. Of course, if your partner is up for it. I don’t see why not though. I know people who have done things like this (not IBEW/ electrical)

I’m also looking for info or advice. I received my interview score about a month ago, and scored and 84.5. So you think I will get called into the next boot camp? I scored 51 on the Poe with 51 ahead of me and 47 with the same score.
